@BennnyH My landlord recently tried to put my rent up by 45% (extra £400/month)… outrageous I know. Put in a counter offer at £200/month extra and he accepted. I think they just try their luck honestly. @UKLabour should really look into this. It’s brutal during a cost of living crisis.

Landlord just wrote to us saying they are increasing our rent by 20% at the end of the tenancy. As such I'm going to likely be forced to move for the second time this year. Would the Labour government kindly do something so that private renters aren't living in hell?
