Scottish 'nationalism', like Irish 'nationalism', is rooted in victimisation. Because of this, it fails to acknowledge its country's own achievements. For instance, when James I became King of England, it was a clear victory of Scotland over England, as a Scottish monarch was crowned on the Stone of Scone once more.
