Hot take: Hiring a team of engineers is the same as vibe coding. The CTO doesn't read the code. They just decide on the vibe and wait for it to deploy as they focus on other things. AI is just your team of engineers at a millionth of the cost. Tell me I'm wrong.

@kapilansh_twt Is this that much different than a team of programmers? Something blows up and the person who gets called at 3 didn't write it or approve the PR. They go in and fix the problem, wash their hands of it, and go back to bed. Another dev wakes up to 3 new problems.

vibe coding is just a fancy term for "I have no idea what my codebase does" → AI writes 400 lines → you don't read it → it works → you ship it → 3am production fire → you have no idea where to start → ask AI to fix it → AI breaks 3 other things we're not building faster we're just breaking things at the speed of light and calling it innovation

I will die on this hill. Nobody gets mad at a CTO for having a team of engineers build a product of which he doesn't know the code base to save his life. Yet developers get shit on for using a tool the same way the CTO uses his dev team. Yeah you can say that's the CTOs job, not to code directly. But maybe we need to start reframing our perspective and realize that nobody cares if you use a calculator in math.

@niyonx It doesn't sound like you ever stopped betting on yourself. Income, bills, taxes, etc are all a reality, not quitting on yourself. Sometimes you gotta step back, rebuild, refresh and get back after it. Keep going.

I just submitted my resignation letter. In 2022, I had a startup with 4 other co-founders. I burned through my runway and had to go back to 9-5. Since then, I have built multiple apps on the side and they now makes enough to pay my rent. I’m now ready to bet on myself again. This time will be different. Wish me luck!
