Data Breach National Public Data was breached and approximately 2.9 billion social security numbers and other information was publicly released on the darknet. We wanted to provide some tips to help protect you. Tips before a breach: - Use strong, unique passwords. - Enable two factor authentication (2FA) or multi-factor authentication (MFA), especially for banking and social media. - Regularly update software on network devices for the highest level of security protection. - Backup important data. - Routine monitoring of your accounts. - Minimize data sharing and computer cookies so you are only sharing necessary information. - Use a VPN to encrypt internet traffic. - Beware of phishing/smishing or other scam attempts. - Scrutinize unsolicited contact for legitimacy. - Educate yourself to minimize your risk of victimization. Tips after a breach: - Change passwords immediately. Change the passwords of the affected accounts, as well as any other accounts that used the same or similar credentials. - Check for breach notifications to determine what information was compromised. - Monitor accounts closely for unauthorized activity or access. - Place fraud alerts or credit freezes through Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. - Review network device and online account security settings (i.e. – Security Questions for login information). - Consider identity theft protection services. - Notify relevant stakeholders, if needed (IRS, SSA, Credit Card companies, financial institutions). - Notify family and friends that your information was compromised so they are not duped for someone pretending to be you. #DataBreach #cybersecurity

@ScratchFab Hey Tom! This is such a great story! I'm a reporter for the local paper - the JeffCo Transcript. Are you open to talking on the record about meeting "Hollywood"?

How much fire hose was used on the #QuarryFire? 2 miles! This morning, crews rolled up all the hoses at Hildebrand Park. #COFire

Firefighters are laying down wattles (runoff control devices) to help prevent erosion inside the #QuarryFire perimeter. The crews are using downed branches to drag the wattles on the dozer line. This is very important work because of the possibility of rain in the next few days. Control of the Quarry Fire has now been turned over to @ICFPD. #COFire #cowx @ElkCreekFire @WestMetroFire @efr_co

Wildland firefighting has changed over the years- embracing technology like air resources (planes, helicopters) to fight fire with water and retardant drops; and drones- to get situational awareness and assist with burn out operations. Many incident management teams also have a meteorologist on scene to help predict fire behavior with pinpoint weather forecasts. But, one thing that hasn't changed is that it's "boots on the ground" or firefighters, that do most of the work. And, they do that work with tools invented more than a hundred years ago. In this "Learn the Lingo"- find out about the Pulaski.

Leaving my house and going down the canyon from the #quarryfire I lost my brakes. Seems like I'm still being challenged but I won't break because I am blessed! The brakes started going bad when I was evacuated. I was hoping to limp through till Monday so I could fix them...nope.
