HBO's Harry Potter TV Series Production Designer Mara LePere-Schloop on how magic works in the show: "In the initial conversations with [director and EP] Mark [Mylod] and [showrunner] Francesca [Gardiner] about the core values of our show there was this kind of inherent desire to be rooted in naturalism. Also, in this idea, at the core of Harry Potter, nature is the root of magic. And so, magical realism, rooting things in principles that we find in nature and the phenomenon of the nature world. If we could harness those things, that's what magic is. These ideas of naturalism being this core principle of the Wizarding World in something that we're integrating a lot of our sets. We have to bring the natural world to them." Did these people even read the series and realize all the supernatural elements that are involved? What is going on here?

Unlike James Bond, Matt Damon is Jason Bourne. He left such an indelible impression on the character that I’m hard pressed to see the character succeed on the big screen without Damon. THE BOURNE LEGACY is evidence of this.

He said, of the two, Ben was much more business savvy. Matt had more of an artist's mentality.

Chris Gore is the Gandalf of Nerds. To see what they are allowing as panels while snubbing an absolute LEGEND in geekdom is laughable, at best. I bet if he put "non binary" at the end of his submission, he'd be ushered to the head of the line.

MEGADOC might be the funniest documentary I’ve seen all year, mostly because the chaos behind the making of “Megalopolis” and the sincerity everyone brought to a vision that nobody seemed to really understand other than Francis Ford Coppola is as absurd as the final product. Coppola and Shia LaBeouf constantly clash, while Adam Driver and Nathalie Emmanuel are noticeably absent. Yet, for all the madness, everyone seems committed to realizing Coppola’s ambitious vision. What Mike Figgis and Coppola capture isn’t just the struggle of making a film, it’s the joy of filmmaking itself and that alone is meaningful, even if we don’t fully understand or enjoy the final product.

@ScreamerWilhelm Agreed. His only real sin was never directing an "import" film. FOXES, FLASHDANCE, 9 1/2 WEEKS, FATAL ATTRACTION, JACOB'S LADDER, INDECENT PROPOSAL, LOLITA, UNFAITHFUL and the recent DEEP WATER...are all...not very weighty. However, I love many of them.
