That feeling when you board a train having purchased your ticket with a Rail Card that you’ve gone and left at home, and the Conductor calls ‘all tickets and rail cards please.” Letting the train take the, now rather expensive, strain. 👀

I've been thinking recently about how imposter syndrome has a lot to answer for. Generally, sure, but specifically in politics.
I say this because of what I've observed in myself when I experience feelings of inadequacy or a lack of belonging.

For the last few Christmases I’ve been buying myself a small, inexpensive treat, wrapping it, labelling it ‘Mum’ and putting it under the tree with the other presents. On Christmas Day I open it and gratefully thank my family who all smile back none the wiser.
