@implausibleblog I wonder if someone in BBC News has been a beneficiary of the £5m "just a gift" - it is truly bizarre how a political company with 7 MPs is so often platformed on BBC, thereby making a mockery of its impartiality.

Robert Jenrick from Reform says he shared a post on social media, it was pointed out to him that there was a problem with what he'd shared, so he deleted the post, and thats what a responsible person does in those situations. He also says he has nothing to apologise for.

Lest we forget: When a Reform councillor shared a post saying a Labour MP “should be shot”, Farage refused to condemn it or sack him at PMQs. Starmer called for basic decency. Farage deflected. Now Zia Yusuf says if Zack Polanski isn’t in custody by tomorrow, the police have “declared open season on Members of Parliament.” I don’t condone violence or threats against anyone. But it’s remarkable how quickly the moral high ground appears when the target is one of their own. Same standards. Or none at all.

Just what on earth are we doing? Zack Polanski’s Instagram account accepted a collaboration request for a post featuring a man wearing a T-shirt with the words “We’re Only Making Plans for Nigel” above an image of a guillotine. I doubt Zack personally approved it, but that’s beside the point. He’s the leader of a major national political party, and his Instagram account has around 750,000 followers. An account of that size and significance should have proper moderation and sign-off. If someone on his team accepted it without first checking the content, that’s a complete failure of basic content management. If it was seen and approved anyway, that’s even more alarming. Of course Nigel Farage has reported Zack Polanski to the police, and the police have said they are investigating. These chancers and charlatans will do and say whatever is necessary to gain political advantage, so this is no surprise. It was an utterly stupid own goal, and Reform will inevitably use it to reinforce its claims that Farage is under constant threat and that he needed the money, just as Ann Widdecombe’s death was used to defend the £5 million ‘gift’. The problem with all of this is that, whilst it’s incredibly stupid, Reform has repeatedly fielded or defended candidates linked to calls for violence, including melting Nigerians down to fill potholes, shooting asylum seekers on beaches, shooting Muslims and Islamists, and stockpiling weapons to use against migrants and “lefties”. Spend 30 seconds reading the comments beneath almost any Reform post about refugees and you’ll find supporters openly calling for migrants and refugees to be killed, often with disturbing enthusiasm. This is obviously outrageous and utterly reckless. But I’d also like Reform to take some responsibility for the climate they’ve helped create. For years they’ve pushed increasingly divisive rhetoric about migrants and refugees while repeatedly failing to confront violent language from within their own ranks or sections of their own support. They cannot wash their hands of the consequences when that toxicity keeps resurfacing.

The man who spent several years agitating for violence (on both sides of the Atlantic) actually wants us to have handguns in the UK 😨. Major hypocrisy alerts too👇. #TaxiForMrFarage please.

@AllisonPearson Whitbread were on this path before Labour were even elected. Largely because of Tory economic incompetence and an inflexible business model. But carry on blaming Labour. You’ve got nothing else to do.

I see @BylineTimes are the first to mention Artemon, the company headed by George Cottrell's accountant Nada Babovic. The same accountant runs a shell in London with fictional activities and moved, according to its files, £2.8m between Mar/23 and Mar/24: x.com/i/status/20209…

This is end-of-days panic, the death rattle of a party choking on its own sleazy vomit. The Murdoch press knows what’s coming, @Nigel_Farage will never reach high office, so they’re cutting him adrift. They’ll be fully behind the Tories again by end of recess. Reform is dead.
