Communities Minister @gordonlyons1 appeared before a Stormont committee yesterday, where MLAs and the minister clashed. Minister Lyons says he is not hostile towards the Irish language. Last month, Sinn Féin accused the DUP minister of cutting £90,000 in annual funding for a project that helps councils with Irish-English street sign translations. However, Minister Lyons said there had been “no decision” by him or any departmental official to do that. Speaking from the Balmoral Show, Michelle O’Neill hit out at the DUP.

Celtic save their best for the Derby game when it really counts. Maeda with one of the greatest goals (unlikely goals) but all the same👏👏 Rangers rolled over like they normally do… what a season. For Martin O’Neill to get this team to this point is remarkable 👏👏🍀

The behaviour of many young people on the Newtownards Road at last night’s parade demonstrates a complete lack of respect for our culture & traditions. It’s not a rave nor a riot, and shouldn’t be treated as such.
Going forward, it’s clear the community will collectively have to do more to self-steward these events in order to send a clear message that this kind of conduct is neither wanted nor welcome.

South Belfast Young Conquerors are kicking off their 50th anniversary celebrations later today!
The band will be taking part in a mass band extravaganza at the SBPB annual parade in Belfast.

The parade starts at 4:30pm on Donegall Road (from Barrington), with SBYC assembling at The Pass from 3:30pm.

It is a very sad day for Northern Ireland to see Pastor Clive Johnston convicted of breaching a so called safe zone. His crime, speaking from John 3:16, the very basis of Christian teaching. God’s love for mankind.
