That is the entrance to an active DOT equipment storage lot. Honey Locust Park on the eastern side of that overpass, where your group photo was taken, received a nearly $2M renovation just last year. A super sidewalk is also being installed on the entire northern side of the block. uppereastsite.com/super-sidewalk…

@errollouis It’s a big game. Sometimes I would say “the press conference” but they got smart to that and would ask “which one?” So I would look through and try to see signs of what the press conference was about. Charter schools! But our members would just get refused entry.

As a cub reporter in the 80s, I used to eat lunch on the steps of City Hall and watch Koch and his commissioners go in and out. Now a man with a gun stops you, which sucks. Interrogation or magnetometer—we don’t need both.

You know what I hear over and over again - that NYC is not enforcing rules against unlicensed street vendors. I’m for increasing licenses but we should do more for the retailers who are paying rent and trying to survive.
