Congratulations to all the Democratic candidates who won tonight. It’s a reminder that when we come together around strong, forward-looking leaders who care about the issues that matter, we can win. We’ve still got plenty of work to do, but the future looks a little bit brighter.

The temperature high was 81 degrees in New York on Wednesday NOVEMBER 6, by the way. But America elected a climate change denier because the black lady didn’t have the right message for people who never went to college. We are very close to watering our crops with Gatorade.

We must not delude ourselves in this moment. Multiracial democracy in the United States is less than 60 years old. It has always been contested, often violently so. It has always been fragile. Since this nation's inception large swaths of white Americans -- including white women -- have claimed a belief in democracy while actually enforcing a white ethnocracy. In the face of shifting demographics where white Americans will lose their numeric majority, we see a growing embrace of autocracy to keep the "legitimate" rulers of this country in power. History teaches us that we are in a perilous moment.

Update: Several of the migrants I’ve been speaking with say they would have voted for Trump themselves. Most are folks who crossed the border illegally in the last 2-3 years. They don’t believe Trump will deport them, because they are here to work and are “not criminals.”

This exit poll data is wild: White men, white women, Black men, Black women, Latina women ALL tracking their 2020 numbers very closely. Latino men, 2020: Biden 59%, Trump 36% Latino men, 2024: Harris 45%, Trump 53% A HUGE shift from D+23 to R+8

Democracy is clarity. As a student of human behavior, I believe it reflects the will of the people. The race is not over but the blame game has begun. I will not let the pundits scapegoat Black voters. I will not let you scapegoat Arab American voters. Not even the shift of Latino voters. Donald Trump was supported by White men, White women, non college educated and college educated. Suburban White women and rural White women by a majority. It’s clear that my neighbors, coworkers, and friends have no problem with a convicted felon, convicted rapist, racist, and misogynist leading their government. They share his values. People show you who they are.

We tried. We were failed, again.

Just finished day 1 of my qualitative fieldwork grad seminar. This class is special to me, as it was the class that convinced me that there is a method to house my feelings and curiosities about the world & understand the ‘what else’ that happened outside of the regression.

After tonight’s debate there should be no doubt – no room for discussion – @KamalaHarris is the only candidate in this race who is ready to be President.
