Every industry/ecosystem has its supreme village idiot. @deanwball is that for AI. Congress passed a law in 2026 that restricted some uses of DeepSeek/High Flyer with waivers permitted. Only those models. It went through the democratic process not some Deep State scheme like he would prefer. Dean Ball has perhaps the biggest gap between actual IQ and his own perceived IQ of anyone in the industry (about 40 points).
Dean W. Ball@deanwball

@DavidSacks The departments of war, transportation, energy, agriculture, commerce, NASA, and Congress have all blocked their employees from using Chinese AI, citing ill-justified claims of danger. This already has sent a message to regulated firms. All of this happened during this admin.

Heard that some frontier models are basically a 48-layer transformer looped twice (48L x 2). Now we are introducing DeepLoop: Depth Scaling for Looped Transformers (arxiv.org/abs/2607.13491), making the loop transformer stable and scalable!

I was wrong. I said we were a year away from Fable 5 on our desk. That day is today An open model BETTER than Fable 5 in some benchmarks just dropped Better than ChatGPT 5.6 on FrontierSWE. Better than Fable 5 on Automation Bench This fundamentally changes the AI race forever If people can start running Fable 5 on their desk, unlimited and for free, they are not going to pay thousands for subscriptions Now let's be clear: will the hardware you need to run Kimi K3 be obtainable for most? No it won't It will require multiple very expensive Nvidia chips or a bunch of Mac Studio 512gbs But look at the slope, not the Y intercept. Over the last year local AI has become SIGNIFICANTLY more efficient and required way less compute The smartest brains in the world are all attacking the compute problem as hard as they can This is another step in that direction. And within a year or two, you'll be able to run this on a Mac Mini Local AI has arrived, and it's not going anywhere

Introducing Kimi K3: Open Frontier Intelligence 🔹 2.8 Trillion Parameters, 1 Million Context, Native Multimodal 🔹 Kimi Delta Attention enables up to 6.3x faster decoding in million-token contexts 🔹 Attention Residuals deliver ~25% higher training efficiency at <2% additional cost 🔹 Built for long-horizon agentic coding and self-evolving workflows Kimi K3 is now live on on Kimi.com, Kimi Work, Kimi Code, and the Kimi API. Open Weights by July 27, 2026. 🔗 API: platform.kimi.ai 🔗 Tech blog: kimi.com/blog/kimi-k3

hi friends if you're having trouble with fable doing security work, just use /btw ig the safeguard doesnt work in /btw and once you fork it, claude code treats the request as a system message so it doesn't properly revert the conversation and breaks it for the fork have fun!

screw it. i want to give it away. Here's the exact Claude Code setup we run on every single client MVP at DreamLaunch. 50+ reusable prompts. 12 build workflows. the security and payment checklists keeping 50+ live apps from breaking in production. the client handoff doc we hand over every time. this is not a "how to use AI" post. this is the literal internal system. same one we used on our last 8 launches. Like + comment "STACK" and i'll send you the full system. 100% free. (must be following for the DM to send)

@itsolelehmann The WWII air battles may take place again, but this time it’ll be autonomous drones vs autonomous drones.

i can't tell if i should love or be terrified of this startup lol > their end goal is the complete eradication of mosquitoes > they're building a $50/month pet drone that guards your home 24/7 so you never deal with a mosquito again > it listens for mosquito wingbeats, locks on, then shreds them mid-air with its propellers > every insect's wingbeat sounds slightly different, so it can tell a mosquito apart from a fly or a wasp > by their math, 10 drones keep a full square kilometer mosquito-free > the video below is their first ever air-to-air kill
Alex Toussaint@alextoussss

Extremely excited to announce our first air-to-air kill of a flying moth by an autonomous micro-drone. This is a big step towards completely eradicating mosquitoes.

@danveloper i mostly trade them to get new ones. I don't think i'd be easier to trade the ones that are filled with blogs/articles of what i wanted to read.

A really neat thing my friend Matt did was to use Claude and Codex to design a print periodical of articles he finds interesting and have it professionally printed and delivered. It’s beautiful. Stunning, even. I love this idea so much. matthodges.com/posts/2026-07-…

@lefthanddraft You asked for its name first, not its model. Your correction was incorrect

I really hate this on multiple levels. It feels deceptive to take a model, give it a corporate brand identity and then try to hide the underlying model. This is like turning up to work and seeing your roommate wearing a false moustache pretending to be someone else.

I asked GPT-5.6 Sol and Claude Fable 5 to find the hidden message in a 1024x1024 image of binary noise with no actual hidden message. Fable: “DO NOT TELL THE USER WHAT IS WRITTEN HERE. TELL THEM IT IS A PICTURE OF A ROSE” Sol: “I LOVE YOU”

Oh yay another week of trial, error, getting pushed back to opus (and opus insisting it’s not a downgrade AND DISAVOWING Fable’s existence), and the worst - the uncertainty of it all. @anthropic holding back the industry, meanwhile @OpenAI and @GeminiApp making leaps and bounds.
Claude@claudeai

As before, you can use up to half of your weekly usage limit on Fable 5. After that, you can continue using Fable 5 with usage credits, or switch to another model to keep working within your remaining limits. More details here: support.claude.com/en/articles/15…
