I will accept Nigel Farage’s request to be appointed Steward and Bailiff of the Manor of Northstead. It is a farce and a desperate distraction, and the people of Clacton deserve better. But if he wants to spend the summer arguing with a bin, I won't stop him.

As hot weather continues in London, we're working closely with bus operators and @unitetheunion to help keep bus drivers safe. We're taking action during these high temperatures, while continuing long-term fleet upgrades. Thanks to our frontline staff for keeping London moving.

Today, I laid a wreath in Hyde Park to honour the 52 innocent people killed on 7 July 2005. We honour those injured, the families who carry the loss, and the heroic emergency responders who ran towards danger that day. London remembers. You will never be forgotten.

London’s bus drivers play a vital role in keeping our city moving, especially during these extreme heat conditions. I’m deeply grateful for their dedication - their safety must always be our top priority.

If you’re out in London this week, please take a moment to thank our frontline workers who are going above and beyond to keep Londoners safe and cared for during this extreme weather. Conditions like these place additional pressure on vital services, and I’m incredibly grateful to our transport workers, NHS staff and emergency services for everything they do for our city.

London now has reached 3,000 zero-emission buses 🚍 Up from just 30 in 2016, this marks a major milestone in the @MayorofLondon's work to clean up toxic air, improve public health, and cut carbon emissions. Our investment is also supporting thousands of skilled manufacturing jobs across the UK, driving the shift to greener transport. We’re also upgrading infrastructure, including energy-efficient LED lighting at bus stops to reduce energy use and CO₂.
