The South Simcoe Police Service is urging residents of Innisfil and Bradford West Gwillimbury to take proactive steps ahead of a spring ice storm forecasted to impact our region over the next 72 hours. We encourage all residents to ensure they have sufficient food, water, and essential supplies on hand to last at least 96 hours. Power outages are possible, and residents using fuel-powered generators are reminded to operate them outdoors in well-ventilated areas only. Carbon monoxide from improperly used generators can be deadly. We also ask the public to avoid all non-essential travel during the storm. Road conditions may quickly become challenging, and staying off the roads helps keep them clear for emergency vehicles and essential responders to reach those in need. The safety of our community is our top priority. Please check in on neighbours, especially seniors or those living alone, and follow official updates as the situation develops. #IceStorm #staysafe #beprepared

Really excited that the first paper of my dissertation has been published with my awesome co-authors @SempleTori and @BennellCraig and the support of the Winnipeg Police Service who made this project possible.

This decision has stripped clubs of a powerful community outreach tool and removed meaningful support for Special Initiatives, all to protect a select few who do not want to answer any questions about their choices. I hope the NHL reconsiders in order to remain a leader in DEI.
