Calgary Fire Department hoists a Canadian flag to help the city and the country honour Sgt. Andrew Harnett. Thank you to everyone, in uniform, along the roads, across the city, or far away, who paused today.

Thank you ⁦@RBC⁩ for the invitation to hear from retired General David Patraeus earlier today. Interesting highlights: Ukraine could manufacture 20x as many drones this year as does US; and, the biggest financial beneficiary of current US-Iran war is Putin’s Russia.

With today’s historic flyby of the Moon by the Artemis II crew and the awesome team at ⁦@NASA⁩, I thought an appropriate response would be diving into “An Astronaut’s Guide to Life on Earth” by ⁦⁦@Cmdr_Hadfield⁩. Congratulations to ⁦@Astro_Jeremy⁩ 🇨🇦 and all.

In five decades at the bar and on the bench, I have never encountered a story so powerful and compelling. We have much to learn from it." Hon. George R. Strathy Former Chief Justice of Ontario

Meet Lilybeth Berberabe, Visitor Services Volunteer and 9/11 survivor. On 9/11, Lilybeth was an employee in the payroll department at Morgan Stanley, located on the 46th floor of the South Tower. Her husband worked nearby in the Financial District, and they were able to find each other and safely escape. Lilybeth’s experience as a survivor dates back even further to the February 26, 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center, when she was forced to shelter in place for hours in pitch darkness with her colleagues. Lilybeth had the courage to visit the #911Memorial when it opened in 2011, 10 years after 9/11. She says, “As a survivor, I realize how life changes in the blink of an eye. I believe that I’m still here today, not by luck but by destiny.” Since joining the volunteer team last year, Lilybeth has found power in sharing her story, healing part of her trauma and its impact on her mental health, and feeling a deeper sense of purpose. #GlobalVolunteerMonth #911Museum

6am and already climbing! Joined friends from Calgary Police and Fire for a few runs up the Bow Tower as we start training for the Wellspring Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge in June. Calgary’s first responders make our city proud.

Hypocrisy: Not even two years ago, Premier Smith was urging that Ottawa allow more immigrants to come to Alberta - and the Alberta government was actively recruiting new residents from across Canada. But, now, it's Ottawa's fault we can't afford quality health care and education?

@paul_dunphy Sorry, Paul, but we were out golfing, or sitting on a patio with friends, or riding our bikes, or fantasizing about what to plant — and we forgot to pay the heating bill. 🥸

Every 11th of the month, we pause to look up. The sky has become a powerful symbol of memory — of a clear September morning, of lives lost, and of resilience that endures. This year marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. As we approach this milestone, we continue to honor those we lost and reflect on how remembrance connects us across time and place. Wherever you are today, take a moment to #RememberTheSky

@davidfrum That’s an important objective, David. No debate. But MSF did NOT refuse to provide the list; they offered the list and wanted assurances of staff safety. Also an important objective. @MSF_canada

You might want to be careful when buying @WonderfulNuts pistachios. Picked up a sealed 170g bag today, to use in a recipe. Dumped the whole bag. Weighed out at 145g. That’s almost an ounce short / almost 15% below advertised. Not cool.

Pleased to see so many folks out this morning in support of @BBBSCalgary. Profound impact that a mentor can have in the life of a young person, as chronicled by two brilliant testimonials. Mayor @JeromyYYC and I shared a chat. (His Pacific Coast hike raised $215,000 for BBBS.)

Whether you support the UCP or not, please know that this isn’t about parents’ rights. Under the legislation, even after a teen’s evaluation by a specialist medical doctor, a parent who wants to support their child in receiving puberty blockers CANNOT do so. Government control.
