WLMouse Magnesium Ying *This product was sent to me for review, but my thoughts remain my own* Specifications ᓚᘏᗢ Length: 4.68inch / 119mm ᓚᘏᗢ Width: 2.36inch / 60mm ᓚᘏᗢ Height: 1.46inch / 37mm ᓚᘏᗢ Weight: 47 ±2g Internals ᓚᘏᗢ MCU: Nordic 52840 ᓚᘏᗢ Sensor: PAW 3950 HS ᓚᘏᗢ Encoder: TTC Dust Proof Silver ᓚᘏᗢ Main Buttons: Omron Optical / TTC Nihil Transparent Black Dot ᓚᘏᗢ Side Buttons: Omron Blue Dots Contents Included ᓚᘏᗢ USB-C Cable ᓚᘏᗢ 8K Dongle ᓚᘏᗢ Nano 1k USB Dongle ᓚᘏᗢ Full-Size and Dot ptfe skates ᓚᘏᗢ 2 sets of mouse grips ᓚᘏᗢ Mouse Grip Tape ᓚᘏᗢ Post Card Impressions The WLmouse Ying (Magnesium) feels like a direct response to the carbon version. It has the same core idea, but executed in a way that's more consistent and practical. The biggest difference right away is the material. Instead of the experimental, slippery forged-carbon feel, this comes with a more familiar magnesium shell, similar to other WLmouse releases. It's slightly heavier, with my unit weighing 47.3g. It has a nice, slightly matte texture on the mouse, which makes me prefer using it without any mouse grips. In hand, it feels more refined. It has a slightly forward sensor position that aligns perfectly with my thumb when holding the mouse. This makes it ideal for tracking and micro-adjusting. A sensor aligned with the thumb acts as a natural stabilizer, helping maintain consistency by keeping the sensor path straight during high-speed movements. WLMouse listened to all the complaints about the original Ying and refined it, making it a near-flawless mouse. My unit has a completely flat base with 0 wobble. In addition, I have no issues with tracking across all the mousepads that I own. The sensor implementation and its firmware are excellent. Clicks feel crisp and responsive, especially with the optical implementation. They're not overly stiff, and they're easy to spam without feeling mushy or overly light. In addition, the side buttons have absolutely no pre- or post-travel. and are also very spammable. Additionally, the scroll wheel has a slight texture on the rubber, which feels really nice to use, and it doesn't get mushy when spamming like the Beast X. Shape & Feel The shape remains a safe, low-profile symmetrical design, very similar to the original Ying. It still works best for claw and fingertip, with a centered hump that doesn't force your grip too much. Nothing really changes here, which is a good thing. It's still a very easy shape to get comfortable with. The material, however, significantly changes the feel. Magnesium has that slightly cool, dry, almost chalky texture, compared to the smoother feel of carbon. It feels more consistent across the shell and less sensitive to things like sweat or grip variation. The magnesium alloy shell feels more durable and less experimental than forged carbon. It has that familiar WLmouse build quality—rigid, lightweight, and well-balanced—without the variability that can sometimes come with newer materials. Vs EGG OP18K The WLmouse Ying stands out with its magnesium alloy body, which provides a "cool to the touch" feel and high rigidity despite its light weight. The OP18K uses high-quality plastic, and the OP1 is particularly noted for its modding-friendly design, which lets you easily swap switches. The OP18K features a compact, narrow profile with relatively flat sides and a low-to-moderate height. Its main buttons are flat-topped, which ensures a consistent click location. This shape particularly suits claw and fingertip grips, as the flat sides provide minimal obstruction for fingers while maintaining a secure hold during fast movements. Compared to the OP18K, the Ying feels less aggressive and more relaxed. The Ying has a slightly more curvaceous design. The OP1 is slightly shorter, with lightly steeper mouse buttons, which lean it towards a claw grip, while the Ying is more neutral and forgiving. Though its dimensions are comparable to the OP18K, the Ying's surface is more rounded, with a subtle midsection bump and shallow grooves on the main buttons. These features enhance finger placement and grip security, offering a slightly more comfortable palm interaction. The Ying excels at claw and fingertip grips. Still, it also accommodates a relaxed palm hold better than the OP18K, making it a more versatile option for players who value comfort alongside competitive performance. While both mice support high polling rates and modern sensors, the OP18 K's mechanical switches deliver a distinctive tactile feedback that many competitive players favor for their responsiveness in intense situations. The Ying's optical switches are snappy and very light in actuation, offering a slightly faster feel but a softer overall tactile profile. In addition, some enthusiasts may still prefer the direct consistency of a physical cable, especially in competitive environments where every millisecond counts. Pros ᓚᘏᗢ More consistent and reliable than the carbon version ᓚᘏᗢ Still lightweight, and the balance of the mouse is perfect ᓚᘏᗢ Premium magnesium build quality ᓚᘏᗢ Great sensor implementation ᓚᘏᗢ Flat base Cons ᓚᘏᗢ Slightly heavier than the carbon version. The mouse's weight might be a turn-off for many people. ᓚᘏᗢ Still a premium-priced, niche product ᓚᘏᗢ Mouse is on the smaller side, which isn't ideal for those who have larger hands, and/or play with a palm grip. Final Impressions The WLMouse Ying Magnesium version feels like a complete improvement of the original Ying. They addressed nearly every complaint of the carbon version while keeping the core design intact. The magnesium shell immediately changes the experience: it's slightly heavier at 47g, but the mouse feels very durable, with a dry, almost chalky texture that works well without any additional grips. In hand, it feels more premium with a subtly forward sensor position that naturally aligns with the thumb, helping stabilize movements and maintain consistent tracking during fast flicks or micro-adjustments. Performance is equally good. The Ying's optical switches are crisp, fast, and light, letting you spam without losing tactile feedback, while side buttons are precise with zero pre- or post-travel. The scroll wheel is textured and never feels mushy. Overall, the WLMouse Ying (Magnesium) feels like a complete upgrade of the original version: it keeps the strengths of the original design while improving materials, stability, and comfort. It's a mouse that delivers competitive performance without feeling harsh or unforgiving, making it an excellent choice for players who want a lightweight, precise, and versatile tool for claw or fingertip grips, with enough adaptability to handle relaxed palm play as well. In short, WLMouse took the lessons from the original Ying and created a mouse that's consistent, practical, and highly enjoyable to use.

Just wanted to let y’all know: this is peak cloth right now. Maybe the new PMM pad could beat the feel (haven’t tried it), but honestly nothing I can think of even comes close. I thought cloth was dead - I got proven wrong. Insane job @PulsarGears @PLSRESPORTS And ty @wearemaxgaming for the insanely fast shipping 🤙

I’ve finally built my dream HE keyboard. Back during the pandemic, I was deep into o ring mounted mech builds and daily drove a Bongoneko. After watching @/otosalex Sebas video and hearing that Geon was planning a Venom PCB with underglow RGB, I knew this was the one. Now that it’s built, I’m completely in love with the sound. It’s exactly what I was hoping for. Fully foamless with an alu plate and UR ICE Pink switches. The sound is super subtle, a very soft clacky or tiktok lingo „creamy“ sound lol. It honestly barely sounds like a typical HE board. It reminds me a lot of the sound signature I had with my Ikki68 and Haluhalo switches, just a bit quieter.

The new GT60 Pro + FR4 plate with its keycap indicators is such a nice touch. Split space bar for that competitive or casual gamer who wants endless possibilities. Pairs well with any switches you want to use. Great job by Gateron.
