Just now, a liberal, Obama-appointed judge (David Hale) blocked the part of SB 150 that prohibits the use of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones on minor children. These experimental drugs can be irreversible and result in sterilization and a myriad of other long term health problems. This decision is based on the wrong and despicable notion that parents have a fundamental right to mutilate their children. No such right exists. I have been fighting to ban the gender mutilation of minor children since my first year in office, and I am all the more determined to make sure no child is subjected to gender mutilation in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. While this is bad news for those trying to protect children, I know that the 6th Circuit is far more loyal to the plain text of the Constitution than this judge who has a track record of judicial activism. I hope you will join me in calling on Attorney General Daniel Cameron to appeal this egregiously misguided decision.
