Laid off. Again. 😔
3 jobs in 1 year.
Last Friday, I was let go due to a shift in business goals. It's been a tough year, with 3 different jobs and 2 layoffs. Before this, I had 6-year tenures at my previous roles.
This market is no joke.
But, we often learn the most through trials.
Reflect. Refocus. Reorient.
“What’s your priority? Where do you go from here? What do you want next?”
While the edges take shape — I’ve been dreaming about taking all I’ve learned and creating something really special.
I plan to freelance full time and share the journey. And I have SO many ideas..
Here’s to the next chapter… 🚀

I'm excited to announce I'm joining @Logos' team as Manager of Digital Content.
Essentially I'll be helping produce and manage production of Biblical-theological content for their online platforms. Or, in other words, I get to be a professional theology nerd.🤓

They'll survive without me. And I'll certainly survive without them.

What a weird day.
A tool I've used for almost 10 years took to Twitter today to call me a con artist, out of nowhere, with zero actual proof.
Offered them $10,000 to a charity of their choice to hop on a recorded Zoom call with me to show them my Stripe dashboards live (since they claimed my others were faked).
All I've received in silence from them.
These claims are actually outrageous, and UI8 is unwilling to back them up.
I was talking with my wife about it at dinner tonight.
It's an odd feeling to pour everything you have into something for 7 years, and yet have people so carelessly question its legitimacy in the first place.
Much less from a platform I've genuinely loved my entire career.
On the other hand, I must say, it feels quite good to be doing so well, your level of success is even within question.
I'll leave it at that. ✌️

Quick Update: I quit my job in December to go full-time on my side projects. Working at The Good was incredible. I loved the projects I worked on, the people I worked with, and the culture that connected everything together. It's legitimately the best job I've ever had. I always told @jonmacdonald that if I ever left, it wouldn't be to make a lateral move, or even to move up into a VP/CMO role...it would only be to take on the role of "Founder." So, that's what I'm doing. Here's what I'm working on in 2024... Castaway – A productized service that helps agency owners, coaches, and consultants convert each podcast episode into dozens of marketing assets to expand their audience and attract more prospective clients. Productize – Content, courses, coaching, and community support designed to help people launch or grow a productized service business like Castaway. They can't replace 100% of my income right away, so I'm also leaving space on my calendar to do some freelancing, coaching, or consulting in the following areas... • Fractional Marketing Leadership • Content Strategy & Production Management • Customer Research & Messaging Strategy • Executive Ghostwriting • Founder/Executive Coaching (Marketing-Focused) Making the decision to (finally) bet on myself and become a full-time entrepreneur has been equal parts terrifying and exhilarating, but at the end of the day I'm excited for the journey ahead.
