@TrpstrLeonOG look, im sorry but nonsense. a 340 increase? what is your monthly rent after the increase? could the increase be a mortgage payment? no. unless you could buy a home for 60K, its not a mortgage payment

My landlord raised my rent $340. I asked why. "Market rate adjustment." I googled my landlord. He owns 34 properties. Manages them through 3 LLCs. Lives in a $1.3 million house. Has never fixed my heating properly. My rent increase is his mortgage payment on preperty number 35. I am not a tenant. I am a revenue stream who gets to sleep here.

Most people are coming to the realization that many university degrees are worthless, or at least not worth 4 years of your productive life and not worth $100,000 to $200,000 in debt. Looking back at your degree, was it worth it? Or was it just a good time for a few years? Would you do it again? My degree was a complete waste of money (business school) and I ended up in a career that didn’t require it at all.

@MAGAMAHACindy we import oil which is a global commodity. Speculation effects commodities. Look at a place like California where 60-70% of oil is imported from foreign sources.

I voted for President Trump three times, and I’d gladly do so again. That said, I have a sincere, question about something I’m genuinely trying to understand. If the U.S. is energy independent, why are gas prices spiking again? They are getting close to the highs we saw under Biden? I know tensions with Iran are playing a role right now, but I thought energy independence was supposed to shield us from these kinds of swings. Can someone explain what’s driving this? I’m not here to criticize Trump, just looking for a clear explanation. Thanks.

@Cunneenmachine @MattMahanSJ @MattMahanHQ Your problem is that you only see (D) no matter what. Think of it this way, a guy like you is stuck in a tank of shit. it keeps rising. every foot it rises your given a (R) new way or (D) old way. You pick (D) & it rises another foot. over & over. eventually your gagging on shit

@FreeToSpeak71 @RedWavePress Exactly, and he lives in Los Angeles which is being decimated by liberalism on steroids. He'll pull the lever for Karen Bass for Mayor despite living in a progressively worse shit bowl all caused by the prior 10 politicians he voted for.

Bill Maher: “[Yale] wanted to study themselves; why the trust in higher education is so in the toilet, which it is… unfair admissions standards, certainly Asian people have sued about that… but mostly it is indoctrination… At Yale, it’s 36-1, the number of Democrats to Republicans that work at that school.” “Even if you are a Democrat, you shouldn’t think that—that is a good thing. It’s not, it’s never. That’s why [California] is so f*cked up in some ways. It’s because there is nobody checking one side.”

People all over the States need to understand our desire for Pratt here in Los Angeles has no bearing on our political alignment. We are simply trying to save our city. We’ve hit rock bottom under Bass. It’s not always right or left. Sometimes it comes down to the person.

The average US mortgage is $250,000 at 7% over 30 years. Total repayment? $598,000. You borrow $250K and pay back $598K. $348,000 straight to the bank. For nothing. Then you pay to fix up the house. Stuff breaks. You pay insurance monthly. Property taxes every year. 3–6% in realtor fees when you sell. And we act like renting is throwing money away. There is a strong argument for renting.

@Nick_Davidov Democrat tribalism combined with ignorance and sanctimony over substance is a bad concoction. You're right in that only oppressive austerity will change the landscape out here. Its coming and its going to be a real crowbar to the nuts when it finally lands

I love California, but If the CA wealth tax passes I’m likely to leave. I’m not anywhere close to a billionaire but none of the taxes our companies or family pays would go to support this lunacy. I think I won’t be alone. Bankruptcy and austerity might actually be better for California in long term even though it will hurt a lot of people not deserving this in the short term. People who turn on their cars praying not to see a check engine light. While bureaucrats throw billions of public money around on waste, fraud, and destroying the markets.

@AlexBerenson Honest question. How does Seattle elect an inexperienced, marxist (not socialist) child for Mayor? Is it just that only radical 5% show up for the primaries and then everyone in WA state just votes D in the general? Do Rs not have any reasonable candidate?

So Seattle is about to find out it’s not New York or San Francisco or LA or even Chicago, it’s not a financial or tech or cultural world leader, it has lousy weather and second-tier higher ed, and if it makes business too hard business will just leave
Ari Hoffman@thehoffather

Seattle is once again a national embarrassment This time, thanks to Socialist Mayor Katie Wilson telling everyone to boycott Starbucks the day she gets elected, then Starbucks announces they are leaving, and when asked about capital flight, she says "bye" and giggles
