In a call with reporters just now, Adm. Brad Cooper of @CENTCOM says Iran has opened fire on U.S. warships and commercial vessels today, but declines to say whether the ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran is over. U.S. forces returned fire and destroyed some Iranian small boats.

The oh-so-modest subject is ‘a hero’ to many in the world according to the writer. Accusations of antisemitism are apparently levelled by ‘Israel’s most vigorous defenders’. That’s not true. Allegations of antisemitism have come from France. Germany, Czech Republic, Austria and even her own country, Italy which called her reports on Israel ‘entirely devoid of credibility’. One example of her dangerous lies is when she told a press conference that it was likely 380,000 children under five had been killed in Gaza - a figure that exceeds the entire population of children under five in Gaza, according to Palestinian Authority census data. This is why she is criticised.

Lee lost the war. Grant won it, first in the west, and then by crushing Lee on his home turf. Trump is buying the “Lost Cause” image of Lee, which sought to portray him as blameless and noble. In fact, Lee supported slavery and killed countless Americans in defense of it.

Trump on Civil War: Why couldn't that have been settled? Maybe it could have been. Robert E. Lee was an amazing general. He took something that was supposed to end in a day and made it last four years. If Gettysburg didn’t happen, he would’ve won.
