Seychelles Defence Forces

Two personnel from the Seychelles Defence Forces (SDF) — Second Lt. Fady Faure and Pvt. Alexander Bastienne — will participate in the IOS Sagar initiative of the Indian Navy as part of our longstanding bilateral capacity building engagements. This engagement will commence with a Harbour Phase on 15 Mar 2026 at Kochi, followed by a 50-day sea phase, aimed at enhancing interoperability and strengthening maritime cooperation through shared learning and operations. 🇮🇳🇸🇨

The 11th edition of Exercise LAMITYE 2026 officially opened at Ile Perseverance, launching a two-week joint training between the Seychelles Defence Forces and the Indian Army’s Assam Regiment, strengthening cooperation, knowledge sharing, and camaraderie between the two forces.

Exercise #LAMITIYE The 11th edition of India-Seychelles Exercise #LAMITIYE will be conducted from 09 to 20 March 2026 at the Seychelles Defence Academy. Being the first Tri-Services edition, the exercise will focus on joint tactics in semi-urban environments to counter hostile threats and enhance operational synergy. High Commission organized 2nd edition of India-Seychelles Hybrid Defence Seminar today. Eminent Indian Defence manufacturing firms gave virtual presentations in presence of CDF & senior officers of the Seychelles Defence Forces towards expanding avenues of collaboration.

The Republic of Seychelles will be represented by a 10-member SDF contingent at the AFINDEX-2023 that will be undertaking training, exercise and ops from 21 to 30 March in India. A pivotal example of exchange of best practices between 🇮🇳 & 🇸🇨.

The U.S. Embassy is collaborating with the Seychelles Ports Authority to host a 13-person dive and salvage team from Dec 3-22, 2022. Journalists witnessed a great partnership as select CTF-68 divers and the @SeyDefence Coast Guard removed submerged wreckage of the Oceans Bounty.
