If Andy Burnham is serious about putting politics aside to solve Britain’s biggest problems, it’s remarkable that he’s chosen to ignore Reform. He is conspiring behind closed doors with the failed political establishment to foist further tax rises on the country. The fact Ed Davey and Kemi Badenoch are going along with this tells you all you need to know. This is the uniparty in action.

So much for @andyburnham being a ‘prime minister for everyone’ This will cripple ordinary families. £900k for three beds in shepherds bush is at the bottom end of the market. An equivalent rental is about 3-4k. These aren’t the super rich he’s punishing, it’s working families. People won’t be able to afford to live in their homes.

A message to Andy Burnham: I know you took a private jet to Manchester last week to govern from No 10 Oop North. But if you're feeling more cash-conscious, why not take the stuffy, dirty, delayed, crowded Avanti West Coast service from London. I had the pleasure of sharing my journey with two strangers who slept across our shared table Not very comfortable. But being a man of the people you may enjoy it. Or not

I’ve had enough. Today I am writing to the Prime Minister. Every day, small boats carrying people across the Channel continue to arrive on our shores, and this Government appears unable to bring the situation under control. Meanwhile, the cost falls on the British taxpayer through accommodation, processing and public services, while many hardworking people feel they are being pushed further down the list of priorities. As the owner of a small business for 24 years, a property professional and an elected Councillor, for the first time ever I cannot afford to give my staff a pay rise without putting my business at risk. Rising National Living Wage costs, increases to employer National Insurance and an ever-growing burden of employment legislation have added around 28% to our costs just to stand still. We simply cannot increase our prices enough to absorb these costs, and our profits certainly haven’t risen to match. 99.2% of UK businesses are small businesses. We are the backbone of our economy, yet many of us now feel we are being asked to carry an ever-increasing burden while struggling just to survive. I am deeply concerned about the direction this country is taking. I am not happy. And I know I am far from alone. @10DowningStreet @RupertLowe10 @ShabanaMahmood @andyburnham #LetterToThePM #SmallBusiness #EnoughIsEnough #RestoreBritain

538 illegal migrants have crossed the English Channel in the 5 days since @AndyBurnham took power. Our new Prime Minister still hasn’t mentioned immigration once.

This is pure lies from the club, an old boy behind me sometimes can’t make it and resells his season ticket on the exchange, in that seat there is always a tourist who has paid £500+ depending on the fixture so please explain this @LFCHelp ? Is this not touting a £50 return ? 🫪

Seen it loads. Been offered tickets by people who’s lists i’m not on and I’ve had spare tickets but the people on my list are sorted so can’t give them to anyone. Only option is to scan someone in or lose the credit. The big issue isn’t random touts, it’s massive businesses and the club itself. The club banned two people who were selling their ST onto me and my dad for a season coz they were going travelling, those exact same tickets were on sale for a variety of prices each game. From £300 to like £550 for bigger games. Classed as hospo coz they let you in early and give you a pint at HT. Utter scum

Is it touts selling hundreds of tickets in grouped seats on 3rd party websites or is that the club? Touts are cunts and it’s sound that they’re trying to eradicate them, but the club are the biggest touts about. Putting blocks on regular people passing their tickets on to mates is pathetic. Club might wana start with the elephant in the room, you know the fuckers buying standard tickets back off supporters who can’t go and flogging them for 10x the price! Bastards! Won’t be long before the lifeblood has been drained away from the club, The Kop will look like every other stand across the country and the atmosphere will be completely dead for good. If that’s what the owners are willing to risk, on their head be it. Anfield is for supporters. End of!

@Sfoster_88 I reckon most people who pass their tickets on are passing them on for genuine reasons and making no profit. The club selling a standard ticket for 10x the price is scummy

@Sfoster_88 It’s also not right controlling who a person wants to give their ticket to when they’ve paid for it. If they had a real issue with touts, they’d target 3rd party websites, instead they hit regular fans

@ScouseRepublic That’s the issue though, they have no way of knowing, it’s not an easy situation. A season ticket holder took the seats I had for year under my membership and he only goes 3 games a year. Regardless if he sells the rest at face value, it ain’t right

@Sfoster_88 Doesn’t affect them. They’ve had their money for the seat so it shouldn’t make a difference. The obstacles are stopping genuine fans from passing their tickets on to people they want to use it. Not touts

I’m sorry, but I will not be called thick by any lefties that support the ginger growler! Call me racist, call me fat, but not that 🙈😂 I was speaking to a sitting MP the other week, and they said they will work across party with any other MP to get the job done. However , Angela is impossible to work with, as she’s so thick and she infuriates them 🙈🙈🙈 And no it wasn’t a Reform MP.

Good news that VAT will be cut on electricity bills. It’s a simple way for families to save a few quid, and to mechanically help to keep inflation that little bit lower. But the DigitalID program was unfunded. The government will have to set out how it will pay for its new policies at the budget.
John Healey@JohnHealey_MP

Today’s energy tax cut will give families some breathing room on bills, and provide some reassurance this winter. This will be funded from the cancelled Digital ID scheme this year, helping to bring down inflation while supporting households in every postcode.
