@Diegoserraebu4 @VigiaCiudadano7 Esas cosas nunca envejecen bien -PUBLICAMENTE. Solo hay 3 poderes humanos dominantes en este planeta: China, Estados Unidos y Rusia. El resto del mundo es simple subdito de alguno de esos 3.

Why Did It Take Evolution 2 Billion Years to Make a Complex Cell? Life on Earth kicked off over 3.5 billion years ago, but for nearly 90% of our planet's history, it stayed stubbornly single-celled and simple. The jump to complex cells (eukaryotes) only happened around 1.7 billion years ago—after a staggering delay. Understanding this "boring billion" is key to figuring out how likely advanced life is elsewhere in the universe. Prokaryotes vs. Eukaryotes: The Energy Barrier Early life consisted of prokaryotes (bacteria and archaea): tiny, no nucleus, no internal compartments. Everything happened in one open space, so diffusion limited their size—bigger meant starvation in the middle. Then came eukaryotes with game-changing upgrades: A protected nucleus for DNA. Membrane-bound organelles for specialized tasks. Mitochondria**—powerhouses that unlocked massive energy from oxygen. This energy surplus let cells grow bigger, get fancier, and eventually team up into multicellular organisms. All animals, plants, and fungi trace back to these pioneers. Why Are Ancient Cells So Hard to Find? Soft-bodied microbes don't fossilize easily. Oxygen eats them, bacteria devour them, currents shred them, and deep burial cooks them into carbon mush. Most Precambrian rocks were heavily altered over time. The Clay Savior The secret to preservation? Fine clay sediments in ancient coastal zones. Clay particles carry electric charges that: Glue to cell membranes. Block self-digesting enzymes and hungry bacteria. Seal out oxygen. Over millions of years, these layers turn into shale. Dissolve the rock in acid, and delicate carbon films of billion-year-old cells emerge under the microscope. Prime Hunting Grounds Scientists target pristine outcrops like: Svalbard (Spitsbergen)**: Arctic exposure with ancient tropical seabeds. Australia**: Stable ancient crust yielding ~1.75-billion-year-old eukaryotes. Why This Matters for Alien Life These techniques directly help Mars missions. Clay-rich craters (like Jezero, home of Perseverance rover) are prime targets because they could preserve microscopic biosignatures the same way Earth did. It also sharpens tools to tell real biology from fake mineral mimics. Bottom line: Complex life wasn't inevitable—it needed oxygen, the right minerals, and a ton of time. That long wait suggests advanced life might be rarer than we hope... but Earth's eventual explosion of diversity shows it's possible when the pieces finally align.

Dark Matter Fails the Test For nearly thirty years, physics has grappled with a stubborn mystery. In 1997, the DAMA/NaI experiment, located deep underground, detected a signal that fluctuated with the seasons. The logic was elegant: as Earth orbits the Sun, its speed through the Milky Way’s dark matter "cloud" rises and falls—implying that the detector should capture varying numbers of particles. These seasonal oscillations seemed to hint at the presence of dark matter. A follow-up experiment, DAMA/LIBRA, observed the same annual "pulse." However, other detectors around the world saw nothing of the sort—a discrepancy that caused considerable confusion. To settle the matter, researchers built two "twin" experiments: ANAIS-112 and COSINE-100. They utilized the same sodium iodide crystals and the same operating principle but featured improved shielding against interference. As early as 2021, initial data from ANAIS suggested the absence of any seasonal pulse. Now, a study published in *Physical Review Letters*—which combined data from both experiments—has confirmed that no annual oscillations exist. The conclusion: the DAMA/LIBRA signal is almost certainly unrelated to dark matter. What exactly was flickering in the detector remains an unanswered question. Yet, a long-standing burden has been lifted from the shoulders of physicists: they can now confidently continue their search for particles—including lighter candidates—without being distracted by that controversial result.
