On Thank a Resident Day, here are a few things you may not know: 1. Residents work 60-80+ hours/week & make around $12-18 per hour. They get no extra pay for extra (residency) shifts. 2. They often work 28 hours straight & can be sleep deprived for much longer on “home call.”

You may have seen a hundred heart attacks, or a thousand diagnoses of cancer, but for the person experiencing illness, their life has been turned upside down. Our normal days are their most difficult. I try to remember this even as I’m zooming in and out of patient rooms.

Good afternoon Twitter, X now lol, it’s been awhile since I’ve posted! The biggest update I have is that I was blessed with the birth of my daughter Sydney Renee on 1/20/24! 🥰 As exciting as this was, I want to share my birth story as it relates to importance of advocacy.
