Top of the 6th tie game. Kid crushes a HR off my pitcher. Kid’s pumped & celebrating running around the bases & misses 3rd on the way home for a big celebration with his team I go out to the home plate ump “He never touched 3rd”. Ump says “You can appeal coach” Tell my pitcher throw the ball to 3rd and my 3rd baseman to step on 3rd They do “OUT! Batter did not step on 3rd base” I’ve never heard a little league baseball field get so quite Taking a HR away from a 10 year old does not feel good if you’re wondering

My Mexican neighbors have made life Hell for me and my elderly Korea Vet Dad ( I am his sole caregiver). The only English they speak are the curse words they have hurled at me. I have no empathy left. Americans are betrayed in our Motherland. Cut off banking, welfare, remittances, licenses, school, insurance, Healthcare immediately. Stop the abuse.

🚨🚨BREAKING NEWS: THE SENATE will go home until June, leaving the reconciliation bill unfinished. THUNE just told senators in the room. All because of the DOJ weaponization fund. House is expected to follow suit soon. me and @AndrewDesiderio

@JakeSherman @AndrewDesiderio Am I missing something? When do unconcerned parties get a say in what the victorious party in a lawsuit do with their settlement funds? I'm genuinely asking. Wasn't Trump entitled to just pocket this money, and is instead compensating his supporters whom he feels were wronged?

@BriggsWarrenSF @JakeSherman @AndrewDesiderio Trump did not award himself the funds. He filed a $10 Billion lawsuit against the IRS and Treasury Dept for his tax returns being leaked unlawfully. The DOJ settled and the lawsuit was dismissed. This particular lawsuit wasn't about the prosecutions in New York or Georgia.

Right, I get what you're saying. This is just a way to earn some points for your housing payment. It's tier based, so you don't have to spend the full equivalent amount to earn points on housing. Say your rent is $2,000. You only need to spend $500 to earn 1000 points for housing (0.5x). If you spend the full $2,000 on everyday purchases, they give you 1.25x points for your housing payment, or 2500 points in this scenario. That's in addition to the points you earn for the everyday spending in the first place, or 4500 points total. You're gonna spend the money on your rent or mortgage each month anyway. This just provides a way to earn points for it.

@ShallowStateOp @davidu I just meant if you have to purchase goods for the amount of money that you are using for the mortgage why is that really being advertised as a feature? eg, I do that already with the Capital One venture card and just get points as needed I can’t use it for mortgage

Someone told me they pay their mortgage with a credit card (with no additional fee) and get all the points. This has to be wrong, right? Does any institution allow CC payment for mortgage and not add like a 2% fee, if they allow it at all?

@Royal_Bloo @davidu The housing payments aren't paid through credit. It's a separate type of transaction. Bilt provides you a routing and account number that you use to set up autopay with your mortgage or landlord. The day after that transaction, Bilt pulls the money from your checcking account.

@ShallowStateOp @davidu unless people are trying to use this card as a bail out, they use credit instead of personal funds? I’m not sure about how this works for the points though different from a regular card

It's just using the card for things I'd be purchasing/bills I'd be paying anyway. I get roughly 10,500 points each month for around $4,800 in credit card spend. I've only had the card since March, so still seeing if it's worth it or I'd be better off forgoing the housing points for a card with better rewards.

@ShallowStateOp @davidu so why would you bother with this if you have to make the purchase twice? Is there something I’m missing here?

@avidseries Does this address the notion that women are far less likely to "marry down?" And that as more women find economic parity, the pool of partners they'd consider suitable dries up?

This is a good description of our new reality: Under ideal financial circumstances, men will want marriage and a family; under similarly ideal circumstances, women won't. Does this reveal true preferences? Conservatives will hate this, but it may be the case that those traditional social expectations women faced back when they had much fewer options, may have actually been oppressive. And the evidence for this is that as soon as women are able to escape those expectations, they do — and we're seeing the result around the modernizing world in plummeting fertility rates.
Whyvert@whyvert

Newly published: men who win the lottery are more likely to get married and have children. Women who win the lottery aren't. As in the Baby Boom: there was good income for young men (but not women) which boosted marriage and fertility.

@magellank @MarioNawfal Need? It could come in handy, sure, but there are way more practical and cheaper alternatives. Not to mention most people just call for roadside assistance.
