NATO’s European armies are more than twice the size of the US Army & Marines. Europe has about 1.5x the artillery, AFVs and Tanks, and out produces the US in artillery shells. Europe outnumbers Russia in every ground power category by about 2x. Europe will be fine.

INDIA'S AVIATION TRAP AND THE ONLY WAY OUT! Expected. France knows that India has no other way out and will sign whatever deal and conditions Dassault sets. And this is the reality. India has absolutely no options here. France is not Russia, which would agree to any term. Dassault is a business minded company and they know the IAF's vulnerability. Now the question that should be asked from the GoI is that France is not ready to even give the source code of the Rafale for weapon integration after receiving at least $55 billion dollars from India across several Rafale deals, which include 36 Rafales in 2016, 114 Rafales coming, 26 Naval Rafales and 31 Naval Rafales in the future. While the total amount Dassault has spent on the entire Rafale project is around $45 billion dollars. What is the guarantee that France will give the source code and share technology if India joins and pays its share in the FCAS programme? For now, seeing the current situation where the first Rafale delivery will not come before 2030 and the F-404 engines will not come either, I said this when the deal was signed that GE will not give you engines and the US will arm twist India into buying F-35s or other American jets instead of getting the Tejas airborne. The only way out of the current situation is to improve the Integrated Air Defence with more layers and numbers, increase stockpiles of missiles, and fast track the procurement, development and testing of indigenous hypersonic missiles and BrahMos-2. Start innovating and developing the drone programme through tie ups between DRDO and Indian startups. Build a drone army of at least 1L drones with a production capacity of at least 10k/month. Give HAL orders for the Su-30MKI and start upgrading the current Su-30MKI fleet to Super Sukhoi standard, and sign the Su-57 deal with Russia so that around 2030-2031 deliveries of both Rafales and Su-57s begin simultaneously. Because Tejas for now is done and dusted until India has its own engines, since both the Mk1A and Mk2 will fly on American engines which the US will never fully supply and will keep using as leverage indefinitely.
