Dolly Parton has offered a new update on her health while also announcing that she is canceling her scheduled concert residency in Las Vegas.
"The good news is I'm responding really well to meds and treatments, and I'm improving every day. Now the bad news is it's gonna take me a little while before I'm up to stage performance level because some of the meds and treatments make me a little bit 'swimmy-headed,' as my grandma used to say, and of course I can't be dizzy carrying around banjos, guitars, and such on five-inch heels..
"But just think of me as like an old classic car that once restored, can be better than ever. When they raised the hood on this old antique, they realized that I need to rebuild my engine and that my transmission is slipping, my oil pan is leaking, my muffler's busted, my shocks and pistons need to be replaced, and for sure my spark plugs need to be changed because you know as well as I know that I can't lose my spark...
"I've told you before that I've always had problems with my kidney stones. Lord, they dig more stones out of me a year than the rock quarry in Rockwood, Tennessee. But seriously, my immune system and my digestive system got all out of whack over the past couple three years, and they're working real hard on rebuilding and strengthening those, and hopefully I'll be up to snuff again soon."

Did you know Korea sells “one-a-day” banana packs?
Instead of every banana ripening at once, each one is at a different stage.
One is ready today.
The next one is ready tomorrow.
The last one is still spiritually in college, “experimenting.”
Simple. Genius. Solves the entire banana problem.
What do you think?
Would you prefer your bananas this way?

@PunxJesus @cjnitelife @Suzierizzo1 Yup, and some people have to avoid that. People with epilepsy, for instance.

@cjnitelife @Suzierizzo1 Well, you know the old saying…
Candy is dandy, but aspartame is a phenylketornuric.

One question I get a lot is can you see the stars differently from up in space. When we orbit on the night side of the planet, we get a view of the stars very much like being in a very dark place on Earth. And because of our orbital inclination, we get to see the stars of both the northern and southern hemisphere. I captured this shot of our galactic plane from one of the windows of the Crew Dragon Freedom that is docked to the zenith docking port.

🌈🌈 Double “Twinned” Rainbows Over Pensacola, Florida!
This morning, skywatchers in Pensacola were treated to an extraordinary spectacle: rare double “twinned” rainbows. In a single glance, up to four rainbows appeared, split from two separate bases, creating a dazzling and almost surreal display.
Such phenomena occur when sunlight is refracted, reflected, and dispersed through raindrops at precise angles, and having two twinned sets is exceptionally rare — a perfect blend of nature’s physics and timing.
A truly lucky and magical sight for those who happened to look up!

Three deaths. Multiple suspected cases on a cruise ship.
WHO confirms this is a hantavirus outbreak aboard the MV Hondius sailing from Argentina to Cape Verde.
Right now, we do not know which hantavirus species is involved.
We only know it is a hantavirus.
Why that matters:
Most hantaviruses spread from rodents to humans - not from person to person.
But there is one exception: Andes virus, found in Argentina and Chile (where the cruise ship has sailed 😬)
Andes virus is unique because it can spread person-to-person in close contact (like a cruise ship)
It can progress rapidly from flu-like symptoms to respiratory failure and it carries a ≈36–40% mortality rate.
Argentina IS within the endemic region for Andes virus.
That does NOT mean this is Andes virus.
It simply means it must be ruled out.
Cruise ships create prolonged close contact among international travelers.
If this were Andes virus, contact tracing becomes significantly more complex — especially with passengers dispersing across countries before symptoms develop (incubation can be up to 6 weeks).
Early symptoms look like:
Fever
Headache
Muscle aches
GI upset
Then, 4–10 days later in severe cases:
Cough
Shortness of breath
Pulmonary edema
Until the viral species is confirmed, public health officials must assume the highest-risk scenario while coordinating internationally.
We know it is a hantavirus.
We do not yet know if it is Andes virus.
That distinction changes everything.
