All members of @unitetheunion should vote for the Workers United slate for the NEC from 23 Aprol to bring forward the final severance from Labour. (Dont fall for United Left. Theyre not at all Left and are committed to keeping Unite in Labour). This is **important**!!

This is a good start by our Executive Council, but we need to push further. When voting begins on 23rd April, we should elect Executive members who back calls to bring the 2027 rules conference forward to this year, so we can debate a new political direction for our union, including supporting candidates outside of Labour who stand with Unite members and policies. As one of our members has said: "The time has come to form a party that grows out of the Unions and imo Unite needs to lead that!"

@PC_Steele Yes, all possible. But looking at what's happened - many Labour councils have made such criticisms of both Lab and Tory govs with limited effect. And Green councils in Brighton & Suffolk haven't fought - although maybe new Greens cllrs will be more Left,

If this correct, will be end of perception of Greens as Left. They'd need to be as vicious in their austerity as current Labour bosses of inner London councils that may turn their way - or break the law. No-one Greens is talking about standing to fight as some Labour did in 80s.

The Greens coming first in the London Council elections will be a disaster for them. Running Brighton Council really hit their reputation and that was something they prepared for for years. Thrusting random old hippies and commie students into management positions will be hilarious.

I spoke at the Liverpool Trade Union Council organised People’s Budget Campaign. We put forward an alternative, needs-budget that reverses 98% of all cuts to public expenditure alongside putting forward a 5 year council housing building program (building 5000 houses!)

@Botskyist I hope the conference goes well; I and great to see our Party driving events. The comments from Green Party representatives will be interesting — their attitude in Sheffield is that they will vote in favour of cuts because they have no strategy for challenging this Labour govt.

I have put my name forward for a West Midlands seat on the Executive of #YourParty. My immediate priority on the CEC will be to work to put trade unions at the heart of building our new party – and to campaign for the widest anti-austerity and anti-war challenge in the 2026 elections. Your Party conference decisively rejected a ban on dual membership. Jeremy and Zarah have consistently said Your Party will be different, fully controlled by its members. I therefore believe the members should be allowed to vote for whom they want on the CEC, with no bans on candidates decided in secret! Next week, I hope to be able to explain to you in more detail why I am seeking your nomination. Solidarity.
