@NDRedEagle 5) George or Warren couldn’t hurt the team more than Soucy. Additionally, the team has an abundance of LHD prospects. It was a perfect opportunity to show what they can do to increase trade value.

All four can be true: 1) Soucy playing PK instead of Schaefer allows Matthew more energy for even-strength. 2) Soucy hurts Isles at 5v5. 3) Roy is allowed to dress 7 defensemen. 4) Roy doesn't need to dress 12 forwards in order to keep MacLean-Cizikas-Gatcomb intact.

@joe_nocera Exactly, they’re in shambles. I don’t want the isles to rush and turn into that. I can both enjoy elite seasons from certain players and a playoff push, while objectively seeing how surprise success changed the trajectory of the franchise. It’s not one or the other.

@joe_nocera Doubt many people would root for it. But it was anticipated at the beginning of the season. If not for sorokin, they’d be in the lottery. You can objectively see that being bad now makes you better later. Look at Montreal, San Jose, Anaheim. A quick rebuild results in the rangers

@SherminatorGame I mentioned the col 1st. But rooting all year just for their 1st to be a little higher is pathetic imo. If u prefer to be a bottom 5 team, just for a draft pick, not a real fan. The future does not rely on the col 1st and a jgp return. Isles already built w pieces that are closer
