What the hell is Chicago mayor Brandon Johnson talking about? This nigga all over the fucking place and got the audacity to not specifically mention that Foundational Black Americans are owed cash reparations while mentioning a fake "black and brown coalition" in the same speech

Last night, Kamala Harris was in nearby Savannah, Georgia for what was promoted as a "conversation." Since she has been trying to speak like the grassroots by saying black voters have a right to demand specifics for their votes, I was curious to hear what she had to say. The relatively small theater was barely at 50% capacity so I was even hoping to be able to propose a question. It was all a farce! The "conversation" did not include any engagement between the former vice president and the audience. It was a scripted exchange between her and a moderator! The questions were insultingly softball! The first questions were about what she had for breakfast and her favorite color. I kid you the hell not! She then went on to say that the SAVE Act would make it hard for people to vote since women would have a hard time proving their identity with their birth certificates if they no longer use their maiden name. I was long ready to go. She spoke nothing about specifics for Freedmen. She said nothing about black business expansion, black land ownership, how we are specifically hurt by illegal immigration, or reactivating the Freedmen's Bureau. Of course, she said nothing about reparations, but @BlackAlphaNetw1 did!

#FBA #FREEDMEN #REPARATIONS 💢Everyday is #BlackHistoryMonth celebrating Foundational Black Americans unapologetically Sarah Rector (1902–1967) was an Foundational Black American girl who became a millionaire by age 18 due to oil discovered on her Oklahoma land allotment. Sarah Rector’s early life was defined by her unique status as a Creek Freedman, a descendant of Black American slaves who had been enslaved by members of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation. Born in 1902 in a two-room cabin near Taft, Oklahoma, Sarah was the daughter of Joseph and Rose Rector. Her grandparents had been enslaved by Creek Tribe members, but after the Civil War, treaties mandated that these "Freedmen" become citizens of the Creek Nation, making them eligible for land allotments. As part of the integration of Indian Territory into Oklahoma, Sarah and her siblings were each granted 160 acres of land. However, systemic racism meant that fertile farmland was often reserved for white settlers; the land given to Black children was typically rocky, sandy, and "worthless" for farming. The land was so unproductive that it became a financial drain. Her father, Joseph, struggled to pay the $30 annual property tax (roughly $1,000 today) and even petitioned the court to sell the land. The court refused, forcing him to keep the "useless" property. To cover the tax burden, Joseph Rector leased Sarah’s parcel to an oil company in 1911. In 1913, independent driller B.B. Jones struck a "gusher" on the property that produced 2,500 barrels of oil daily. Overnight, the 11-year-old went from a modest farm life to earning roughly $300 a day (over $10,000 in today's value). Known as "the richest Black girl in America," her income in 1913 was over $300 a day (roughly $11 million today). She owned 2,000 acres of land, stocks, businesses, and a Kansas City mansion. By 1913, at age 11, she was earning more than $300 per day equivalent to over $8,000 to 10,000 daily in today's money. By the time she turned 18, her net worth was estimated at over 1 million, which is roughly 11 million to 28million today. As a member of the Creek Nation, she was allotted 160 acres of land in Oklahoma in 1902. The land was considered poor quality until oil was discovered on it in 1913, producing 2,500 barrels of oil per day. She owned a boarding house, a bakery, a restaurant in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and 2,000 acres of land. She later moved to Kansas City, Missouri, to a house known as the Rector Mansion Because Sarah was Black and wealthy, Oklahoma law at the time required she be assigned a white guardian to manage her estate. T.J. Porter, a family acquaintance, was appointed. In 1914, the Chicago Defender published a scathing report claiming Sarah was uneducated, dressed in rags, and living in a "shanty" while "grafters" stole her money. This prompted a massive response. The NAACP Investigation: W.E.B. Du Bois and the NAACP dispatched special agent James C. Waters Jr. to Oklahoma. They discovered the reports of her living in squalor were largely sensationalized she lived in a comfortable five-room home but the systemic issue of white guardians controlling Black wealth remained a critical threat. Sarah’s case was so significant that it inspired Du Bois to establish the Children's Department of the NAACP. Its mission was specifically to monitor and investigate white guardians suspected of depriving Black children of their land and riches. NAACP leaders worked with local officials to ensure her guardian, T.J. Porter, was truly acting in her interest. By 1916, they successfully pushed for Sarah to have the right to nominate her own guardian; she chose her father. Sarah Rector married Kenneth Campbell in 1922 and was known as a local socialite and philanthropist, driving expensive cars and entertaining notable figures like Duke Ellington. She lost much of her fortune during the Great Depression. She passed away on July 22, 1967, at age 65.
