@ronsterd89 Did he wage any war outside america? Did he promote peace? If the answer is affirmative, then it explains why he was hated in certain circles.

In 1981, Jimmy Carter walked out of the White House. He had been the most powerful man in the world. Leader of the United States. Commander-in-Chief. A man with access to anything, anywhere. Then suddenly, it was over. Most former presidents take a different path. Million-dollar speeches. Book deals. Private jets. A life far removed from ordinary people. Carter didn’t do that. He went home. Back to Plains, Georgia. A small town. No spotlight. No luxury lifestyle. And then he did something almost no one expected. He picked up a hammer. With Habitat for Humanity, Carter started building houses for people who couldn’t afford one. Not posing for photos. Not supervising. Working. Sweating under the sun. Carrying wood. Hammering nails. Side by side with volunteers. Year after year. Into his 70s. Into his 80s. Even into his 90s. This wasn’t a one-time gesture. He helped build and repair thousands of homes across the world. The same man who once sat behind the most powerful desk on Earth was now on rooftops, fixing homes for strangers. No cameras needed. No applause required. While others chased wealth after power, Carter chose something else. Service. He lived longer than any U.S. president in history. Long enough for people to look back and realize something simple. Power didn’t define him. What he did after power did. And in a world where leaders often take, he kept giving. Story based on historical records. This post is for educational purposes.

@AURAGOALX It's not about mbape wasting chances. For me I see that when there is a 9 like Garcia or true 9 or 10 lurking in the final third,Madrid score goals. Let valvede be given the freedom to roam freely; arda plays well with pirtach, vin can throw the ball into the net or 18 yard.

🚨🗣️ Juanfe Sanz Perez: “Real Madrid CF need to urgently sell Vinícius Júnior.” 🗣️ Josep Pedrerol REACTS: “Sell Vinícius? No, no… now we’re going too far. Way too far.” “Yes, he can frustrate you. Yes, there are moments where his decision-making is not perfect. But you don’t just throw away a player like that. Not at Real Madrid.” “We are talking about one of the most decisive players in world football. A player who can win you games on his own, who scares defenders every single time he touches the ball.” “People have short memory. Very short. When he performs, he’s untouchable. When he struggles, suddenly he has to be sold? That’s not how big clubs operate.” “Real Madrid don’t need to sell Vinícius… they need to manage him, guide him, and get the best out of him.” “Because players like this? You don’t replace them. You protect them.”

10 months ago today, a former president died. His successor heard. Since then, the successor’s primary concern has been the same: not grief nor concern for the deceased’s family, but self-service. “I must attend the funeral or else there will be none.” After failing to get his way, he moved to block the burial and waste millions of taxpayers’ money on hiring lawyers in a foreign land to secure his interest. That is his mind in its purest form: what is in it for me? Not empathy. Not compassion. Not dignity. Just a presidency where even death gets measured in personal benefit. The man is EVIL. He does not care about anything and anyone except for their use and benefit to him. Vile. Despicable.

It would really benefit the public discussion if you could take a point I state, show why it is wrong or weak, and then advance your argument complete with reason. Catching feeling simply because I have mentioned a sitting cabinet minister or declaring what I have said as intellectual dishonesty without explaining why you say so is not debate; it is something else. If I say something that is unclear, please ask or seek clarification. If I say something on which you have limited information and want to know more, please ask. Do not assume what you do not know and take that assumption for knowledge. Assumptions spoil healthy public debate. If your ignorance extends to not knowing what you do not know, I will make a few observations in the hope that doing so would help you see the absurdity of your position or the poverty of your 'argument' - if one can, out of discretion or generosity, call it that. To start with, here is the complete sentence from which what you say triggered you – the naming of a sitting minister (!) – came from: “The well known problems of 1997, which led to the collapse of the Strategic Plan and the sad regression of the university into utter chaos, were led by the current minister, Douglas Syakalima, and his friend the current Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Trywell Kalusopa, who, as union leaders, were generally seen as the lapdogs of the then Minister of Education, Syamukayumbu Syamujaye, now late.” There are three crucial points that any sane person with cognitive abilities, and who is not an ethnic-regional nationalist, should easily notice here. The first is the specific capacity in which I mention Douglas Syakalima. It is in relation to his past leadership role as a union leader, not his current role as a cabinet minister. If you initially missed this point in the original post, then the problem has to do with your lack of attention to detail, not me. You surely know that Syakalima was never a minister in 1997. If you did not know this, then it goes back to my general point: ask where you do not know. The second point is the well-known problems of 1997. I assume you know these problems. If you do not know them, either because you were too young at the time or have not dedicated sufficient time to researching and understanding them in depth, then why did you not ask or seek to understand what these problems were? If you know them, then it follows that you also know the role that university unions played in the creation of those problems. I identified Syakalima and Trywell Kalusopa , who were both leaders in the University of Zambia Lecturers and Researchers’ Union (UNZALARU) at the time, to illustrate the point that the some of the people who are leading the line ministry and the university today were central actors in the well-known problems of 1997. The duo should therefore have a better understanding of how to address today’s related challenges because they have a firsthand experience of the pitfalls of the past that set UNZA on a downward trajectory. The duo also must be familiar with the strategic plans of the time, the reasons that account for the success of Hambayi and the failure of his successor, Syamujaye. Yet out of what I wrote, what immediately triggered you is the mere mentioning of one Douglas Syakalima? Ask yourself this question: Why did I catch feelings at the mere mentioning of Syakalima in relation to his leadership role as a union leader that happened 30 years ago? Did it occur to you that Trywell Kalusopa may have obtained his current job as UNZA Deputy Vice-chancellor because of his friendship with Syakalima from their days in UNZALARU? If that is proved to be the case, then don’t you think it reinforces the point I made about the importance of excellence in the recruitment of officers of the university? Why were you not offended by the collapse of the Strategic Plan and the sad regression of the institution into chaos? Third, if what offends you is the mere mentioning of the names of individuals, regardless of the context in which they are mentioned, why were you not offended by my classification of Mutale Chanda as a failure? Why did you not take issue with my presentation of Alfred Hambayi as a competent Minister of Education who also put in place a competent University Council that in turn hired a competent university management? I can go on, but I hope you have seen the ill-informed nature of your expressed opinions in response to what I said in the original post. I go back to the point I made in my initial response. Please ask where you do not know. That is how learning occurs. I recognise the confidence with which you speak or proffer opinions even on matter you know little about. If it may serve as a source of comfort, speaking confidently even on matters one knows very little about is a handicap that you share with many Zambians. I implore you to abandon it. There is no shame in asking where you do not know and learning from people who know better on a given subject, especially those who have spent years studying these things. Do not hang on to your ignorance as if it is a prized possession. It is not. Ignorance is something to be frowned upon and discarded at the earliest opportunity.

Narcissistic traits explain his pattern. Psychological analyses link this harsh tone and dramatic rhetoric to narcissistic injury, where unmet expectations threaten his fragile ego. When events deviate from Trump's anticipated outcomes, it triggers a "narcissistic injury," a perceived threat to his superior self-image. This leads to narcissistic rage, an intense emotional outburst aimed at restoring control and deflecting vulnerability through aggression and exaggeration. This aligns with narcissistic personality patterns, where fragile self-esteem fuels volatile rhetoric rather than reflection.

If lying is a crime, why is Hichilema and several of his officials such as Situmbeko Musokotwane out of prison? Sampa was arrested after Hichilema abandoned his so-called rest to demand the arrest of the Matero MP. Here is the sequence of developments: On 15 January, the Electoral Commission of Zambia issued a statement (see attached) in which it dismissed claims of the existence of a fake polling station made by Miles Sampa and demanded an apology, failure to which they would institute legal proceedings against him. The demand for an apology had no deadline or expiry time or date. On 17 January, Miles Sampa publicly apologised to the ECZ, as per the electoral body’s demand, and explained that he had done so after realising that the information he had shared was false. The commission further received a hard copy of an apology letter from Sampa. On 19 January, Hichilema accused Sampa of having committed a crime over the same matter for which he had apologised two days earlier. On the same day, a junior officer from ECZ reported Sampa to the police over his remarks. On 20 January, the police summoned Sampa and arrested him over the same remarks, charging him with the offence of deceptive communication. Sampa remains in detention as I write this post even when the offence for which he has been charged is a bailable one and the sureties are available to sign for his release. Tell me: How can anyone who is not a praise singer fail to see the hand of Hichilema in the arrest of Sampa?

Sishuwa Sishuwa@ssishuwa

@bryan_chingole The crime is political: the defeat of the UPND in Chawama, a by-election in which Miles played an important role.

In Nigeria, people were praising Trump for invading Venezuela. A week later even Trump regrets it. It might turn out to be the biggest blunder of the Trump administration. No coherent plan, nothing, just an old-age symptom of aggression. Now the country is taken over by an armed militia that the US can't control. The environment is not conducive to business. No oil company wants to risk going to Venezuela. So what was the entire point of the invasion and how has it improved the lives of Venezuelans?
