I was Born and raised in the Netherlands, went this very school that was attacked. I still have many relatives there, that are in this school daily. Unfortunately security has been very much needed.

A bomb just hit a Jewish school in Amsterdam. A few years ago the Netherlands had a good relationship with Jews. Then they imported lots of people who hate the west, Israel and Jews. Israeli visitors became unsafe. And then their Jewish schools started exploding.

A synagogue brutally attacked yesterday, a Jewish school today. We commend our Dutch allies for their efforts to find and punish these cowards. School should be a place of learning and peace, never of fear. Antisemitic violence should outrage everyone. We stand with the Jewish community today and every day.

Twee nachten op rij een laffe aanval met een explosief bij een Joods gebouw. Eerst in Rotterdam, nu in Amsterdam. Dankzij maatregelen en alertheid is grotere schade voorkomen. De veiligheid van Joodse instellingen heeft onze volle aandacht. Naar de daders wordt onderzoek gedaan.

I had a base in the Netherlands for over five years. When I left over three years ago, people from our community asked me why, as life is so comfortable and peaceful in this country. I told them that the natives, who are completely disconnected from reality and literally everything that happens outside of their tiny kingdom, have imported so much antisemitism that shit is about to hit the fan. And when it does, the natives will sit idly by, claim that it wasn’t Dutch people who did it, and then when it’s over they will keep living their peaceful lives as if nothing just happened. Sounds familiar, right? Because it is, it happened during the Holocaust and to this very day the majority of the Dutch people claim that they had nothing to do with the fact that over 70% of their Jewish population has been exterminated. When I moved to NL there wasn’t a single Palestine flag or a pro-Pali protest or any kind of bullying of Jews. Over the years small pro-Pali protests emerged and became a weekly event, after which Jewish symbols were vandalized, such as Holocaust memorials, and even the street sign of the ancient Jewish street in the old city center because why the fuck not. After I left, the pro-Pali protests grew in size and became a weekly event, Palestine flags started to appear on nearly every street, the synagogue in town started to get swastika graffiti every now and then, the pogrom in Amsterdam occurred, and now this. Jews have no future in the Netherlands, but luckily for them they have a home to come back to - Israel. The Dutch, however, will soon find out that it always starts with the Jews, but never ends with them.

Wow. Never seen this video before. The Rebbe is asked by someone if he should bring his daughter back from learning in Jerusalem because there’s a war in Israel. His answer is pretty incredible.

I just checked in for my @united flight back to Israel. My bags were as overweight as I am. It was not a good situation. The gate agent leans over to me, says, “Brother, I love Israel, let me help you.” The man was not Jewish. He patiently waited and helped me repack my bags to make sure I got everything I needed on my flight. We always hear these horrific stories of airline agents with terrorist flags or antisemitic commend to passengers. I’m grateful that I had a positive experience instead!

No one said it would be easy. The year in which we needed the snow outside the Mikvah door, it was dry and warm. So led by Rabbi Mendel, a team of Chevra, Robert, Mitchell, Mick, Cade and Spencer headed up to Hyalite to bring us snow but it’s not simple. The natural rain/snow can’t arrive via vessel, a “Keli”, which makes it susceptible to impurity, so we had shovels with holes drilled in them, onion bags with holes, wood at the bottom of the trucks so it’s not “vesselized”. It now finds itself melting slowly via “Hamshacha” into the bottom Bor, pool, beneath the upper Mikvah pool. Rabbis Farkash and Shuchat guided and we followed orders. G-d’s got a plan and gives us instructions and if there’s a will there’s a way.

When the Medevac landed! Rabbi Chaim Bruk On Wednesday, while picking up Chana Laya from school, my phone rang and it was Rabbi Zvi Gluck, a prominent Jewish activist and CEO of @AmudimOrg. “A Jewish man just punctured his lung while skiing in Big Sky and was en-route via helicopter to Bozeman Health” he said. I dropped the kids at home and arrived at the hospital just as the chopper landed. As David, my fellow Yid, was wheeled into the hospital, I greeted him, ensuring he knows that he’s not alone, and though he was slightly sedated, he smiled when he saw my face. I spent the next two hours with him until his wife and dad could make the drive down to be at his side. In this week’s Torah portion, Yisro, we read about the giving of the Torah. Just before that monumental event, G-d tells us, “You will be unto Me a kingdom of nobles and a holy nation”. The one thing the antisemites get right is that we don’t operate like the rest of the world, we are a family that shows up in ways that others don’t. we aren’t just another band of people who unite under a chosen flag; we are a “kingdom of nobles”, we are connected at our core. The nurse attending to David was surprised that I didn’t know him from before and that I would just drop everything to be there with him and that me being there would bring him comfort. They don’t understand it. They can’t understand it. At Sinai G-d instilled within us an Arvus, guarantorship for each other, and despite our flaws, we do live up to that standard big time. While at the hospital, Chaya texted me to ask for the man’s Hebrew name so that she could Daven for him and the next morning she baked homemade cookies for his wife and parents to enjoy while at his side. I am not writing seeking accolades for showing up, that’s what Jews do, but to share with you how much our community cares. Before the chopper even lifted off from Big Sky, David’s dad called his brother, who called Zvi, who called me and we were moving at the speed of light. While David dozed off, I faced east and prayed the afternoon Mincha prayer, before I finished, he opened his eyes and said, “thank you for praying in my room”. We stood at Sinai as one; we remain one through thick and thin! May G-d guard our brethren in Israel and the world over from harm and send us Mashiach speedily. May G-d protect the armed forces of Israel and the United States wherever they may be!

The large plaque confirms its purpose: “Mass grave for about 700 prisoners… murdered during the final days of the camp’s existence. 1945.” We have not been able to confirm with records, but it is most likely that Gelle Abrahamson is buried here.

The liberation of Auschwitz on January 27, 1945, did not bring immediate peace or safety. My great grandmother Gelle Abrahamson - Duits (1907–1945) was one of the thousands of critically ill left behind.
