I really thought there would be more dimensions, bosses, hostile environments by now. They've made some great changes but its taken sooo many years

Everything Hytale is everything i wished Mojang evolved Minecraft into. Instead Mojang decided to make a world that looks like it could contain a ton of cool lore but just decided once the huge flow of money came in '' Nah fuck these people '' Horses was released in July 1, 2013 Java Edition 1.6.1 ... 2013!!!!!! and made them able to swim with a rider in December 2025. And horses aren't even close to the bigger issue with how lacking Mojang is. Like why the fuck did they add a Warden and a destroyed city in the deep with no further context than a huge blind fuck that obliterates you and drops nothing useful when it dies.

Six months ago, Jeb from Mojang tried Hytale and said "I'd like it to be more different to Minecraft." He was right, and I said it then too. The features that make us unique weren't in the game yet. Hytale and Minecraft will always be compared, but we're not trying to make the same kind of game. Yesterday's blog shows what that means for the future. Handcrafted dungeons with multi-phase boss fights, combat abilities, runeforging, world events, companions involved in the crafting loop, and much more. We want to be a deeper RPG, a stronger adventure identity, and a game that will evolve massively over the next few years. We just happen to be a block game, and we are just getting started.

I think it more has to do with the fact that the roles have flipped. Left-Leaning creators ive seen advocate for ppl's Rights no matter the situation: Right to protest, right to bear arms, right for probable cause, right against unlawful seizure, right to require warrants to bust in peoples homes, etc. We all agree. Right-Leaning Creators used to do that, now it seems they just want compliance these days (since they believe they are in charge) obedience and no questions asked, kiss the boot. no matter what. People dont like that, no matter whose in charge, especially when those in power abuse it. It's pretty simple. Note that Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky, two of the three founders of Fallout are also there (last I heard), so that’s two strong pluses, even if they didn’t work on New Vegas (both worked on Outer Worlds 1 and 2). So: Of the 73 developers, 16 still work at Obsidian, and in key roles. Tim and Leonard are also big pluses. Repeat mentions of a name were marked with an "X." George Ziets is at Digimancy is on Avowed 2, so technically he’s a “no.” I did not include any administration personnel or Bethesda personnel (notably Additional Writing, which had a lot of Bethesda staff who wanted to add writing to their resumes and we didn’t mind).
