@_jasonsilberman Sorry to hear this! Are you sorted yet? Working with @dalexeenko to ensure we significantly improve all of this and no one is in this spot again

been generally a big fan of cloudflare, but got a ~$1,000 invoice which is completely inaccurate and does not represent any usage shown in the dashboard many line items duplicated clearly in the invoice for "ai usage" which i clearly pre-paid separately for (and which total significantly less $$$) submitted an urgent ticket a week ago and yet have not heard anything back...getting a bit ridiculous at this point would love some help figuring out what's going on here @threepointone @eastdakota

today is my last day at @Cloudflare i built things, broke things (a lot), shipped some crazy fun stuff and spent an unreasonable amount of time thinking about agents and/in/or sandboxes i learned so much, made friends for life and had the very fucking best crowd to ride this train with feeling very grateful for this chapter

dply.southpolesteve.com curl -fsSL dply.southpolesteve.com/install.sh | bash dply index.html dply ./my-website dply ./my-vite-app It really is just a thin wrapper around Wrangler. Some of this DX should probably make its way upstream but for now here is one more tool in your toolbox
Steve Faulkner@southpolesteve

wrangler --temporary is so nice for agents. Tempted to take it an extreme and make a thin wrapper. zero config. zero auth. just deploy anything with a single command. blog.cloudflare.com/temporary-acco…

but Cloudflare is the one exception their track record so far is solid: - acquired astro → made it better - acquired replicate → made it better - acquired outerbase → cf dashboard is actually usable now - acquired partykit → integrated it, didn't kill it most companies just kill what they buy cloudflare actually makes stuff better

big company acquisitions are the worst support gets worse everything gets complicated prices go up salesforce acquired heroku - now garbage, killed free tier databricks acquired neon - cold starts became terrible this is why i only use simple stacks now

Two months ago I was fired by Google for creating the Google Workspace CLI. It went viral, hit #1 on Hacker News, gained thousands of GitHub stars and many thousands of actual users in just a couple days. It was an incredible, confusing journey, from directors and leaders asking what they could learn from the tool to getting grilled by legal about why the Google logo and brand colors are on the Google Workspace GitHub code repositories. I think the cause was that Workspace and certain leaders (and projects) were afraid of being disrupted. But the fear wasn't specific to my CLI, it was a broader fear in what agents meant for Workspace. Either way, the irony of my termination was the announcement at Google Cloud Next two days before I was fired that an official Workspace CLI was coming. I want this out there because it is easier for me to explain my story and it is an experience I want to fully own. It's also part of my healing. Nearly 7 years at Google was an incredible opportunity for me and I was fortunate to have wonderful teammates and a manager that fully supported me through these last few months. Thank you.

@typesfast To be fair, I worked remotely in India for 3 or so years half a decade ago and it was great Other than the fact that back then a lot of Bay Area startups were still doing geographic pay

The two most reliable ways to go viral are to 1) criticize India and 2) criticize remote work. But who amongst us has the courage to criticize remote work in India?

Of local brands and businesses in London lately, few have impressed me as much as Bear’s new vets at @CreatureComfVet lately This is how you build brand loyalty (well besides also being fantastic vets)

@Jilles @CloudflareDev And what happens to abandoned environments? From what I read they create a tmp env which you can claim later, but what happens to ones that don't get claimed ? Deleted or could someone hijack them?

Hold up. Your agent can now deploy to Cloudflare without an account?! Yes! We have temporary accounts for AI agent deployments.
