@marcelpociot @MrPunyapal Do people check in their boost stuff into git? I always add all the files/folders it generates into .gitignore except our stuff that's in .ai/guidelines folder and let every dev generate it for them self with boost:install.

@MrPunyapal What I mean is: why does your local "boost:update" give you such a different result vs what is checked into git - as it's also a post-update composer command. So running composer update would give you the same results

Why Laravel Herd link command now messing with Laravel boost files? I mean, I ran `herd link` and 55 files got changed; one got deleted.

All these x vs y model debates are honestly getting out of hand. For the average dev, let a lone a person it doesn't matter too much which model is used. Use the one you have access to at the moment. In the end, for most tasks they will generate about the same code and in 2 weeks times it won't even matter who generated what as long as it doesn't break the app. For some enterprise or high risk job sure the model might matter more but for most daily work it's pointless.

@tibo_maker Now that is good marketing, but very cruel. You can't play with peoples emotions like that 🤣

Giant glass windows can be a pain to cool down, and could easy up your energy bill. But I guess with proper setup on both ac and window side it shouldn't be that much bigger compare to regular windows. Otherwise those giant glass office building would all shutdown from electricity bill.

How you should live - giant glass windows to get sunlight - AC to cool to perfect temperatures - healthy meats, vegetables and fruits (whole foods) - work in your own optimal space - exercise as your medication

How they want you to live - tiny windows to save energy - no AC to save the climate - vegan plant-based food to save the animals - work non-stop to pay tax for governments to waste it - fully medicated so you don't complain

Okay which one of you broke @opencode today??? Looking at you @thdxr 😅 Before I was able to just tell it, hey review this pr for me and it would do it, and today it's like nope I don't know anything and it just stops mid work and craps itself.

My experience with Laravel cloud: Overall: negative - Perfectly fits within advertised 5$ budget if you are hosting a static site with 0 resources - Everything requires a paid resource which starts to add up really quick - Scale to 0 is nice - Forced to use external services if you don't want to pay for everything (db, queues, storage etc) Honestly Forge is a much better experience for me, but am not a big fan of it's pricing either. Stuff shouldn't be free, but it also should cost as much. A smaller monthly fee + individual addons are a much better approach imho then jumping from like 20 -> 50 a month sub just because you need 1 additional feature.

Choosing a backend is really one of the hardest decisions because of lock in. For Family Taxi, will stick with Supabase for now as it’s simple and cheap to get rolling. It works and the LLMs seem to have a good feel for it, though security haunts me and I find myself reviewing that constantly If money was no object would roll my own with Laravel on AWS, but it is an order of magnitude more expensive. I haven’t looked at Laravel cloud, that might be a possibility also. #shipaton #buildinpublic

Someone needs to invent this if it doesn’t exist yet Let’s say a solo developer is working on our PlayStation 5 emulator Obviously, LLMs would help, but he would need ultra thinking, and he will need to burn shit out of tokens If you donate to him directly he might spend the money on cookies and weed What if you can buy him tokens instead So a bunch of people pitching into a token pool And he can use the resources to develop the software further

@marclou @trust_mrr How? Why? Who? I'm genuinely baffled by these types of apps making any profit even less getting sold but somehow they always do.

@PovilasKorop would be nice if -m flag could add a lock or some time diff to the timestamps to prevent this, because it's not just models using the command like that. I sometimes do it in super early stages of projects where I want to quickly scaffold models I know I will need

Damn, so even newest LLMs still do that. They still generate Laravel migrations at the same second timestamps. Cause they run `make:model ABC -m && make:model XYZ -m` Which works well in SQLite, so all tests pass. But if I switch to MySQL... This time, it was Opus 4.8 Medium.

I made a game where giant snail named Bob hunts you 😬 Walking in real life keeps you ahead. You don't want to know what happens if he catches you 😅 It's called SnailWalk.app 🐌 Bob's already moving. Are you?

Ship something, anything. Stop reading docs, watching tutorials, waiting until you feel ready and just build the thing instead. It doesn't matter if the code is clean or messy. You just need to prove to yourself that you can take it from idea to done.

Good code is good code, but every tech lead should have spent time shipping features solo as a developer. If they haven't, they should be required to own a full build cycle. You have to experience what developers experience to fully support them.

Jumping between 6 different sites just to format JSON, encode a string, or make a UUID gets old real fast. So I built d3v.tools that puts the stuff you actually need in one spot. Any feedback is welcome. New tools and features coming soon.

The biggest error I made was abandoning a codebase that just worked. No bloat, no over-engineering, no unnecessary dependencies. It was boring, predictable, and easy to maintain. Whoever inherited that project got something rare.

One rule I try to follow with my open-source work: I don't chase validation for what I ship. If nobody notices, that's the default. If someone files an issue or leaves feedback, that's the exception, and I'm genuinely grateful for it. Silence is the baseline. Engagement is the gift.

@tibo_maker Why does moving posts around the queue schedule (drag & drop) use up credits? I'm not modifying the contents, just at which time slots they'll be posted on.
