Massie: I’m walking to an airplane to rejoin the most expensive congressional race in U.S. history. It’s turned into a referendum on whether Israel gets to buy seats in Congress. And what they found out is that my seat is really expensive. By the time this is over, they will probably have spent $20 million and come up short. I’ve never seen Great Britain, Australia, or even Germany play in our elections here in the United States. But Israel gets so much from the United States. It’s a one-sided relationship. They get us to be their proxies in wars they want against their enemies. They get our military assistance. They get our technology. They get our bombs. They get our tax dollars. And I think it’s a very one-sided relationship. At least with NATO, we pretend that they would come to our aid someday if we needed it—and even that’s a ruse.

Is there anyone worse than Thomas Massie? Faults: 1. Obstructionist: He obstructs protection for the Epstein Class. 2. Backstabber: He stands for the same principles he has for years when Trump does a 180. 3. Traitor: He accepts $0 funding from Israel. Very disloyal to America.

The 1965 TV series Lost in Space, had a cast that included the Robot B-9, and Dr. Zachary Smith. How did the elephants know? Two days after a South African conservationist named Lawrence Anthony passed of a heart attack in 2012, two herds of wild elephants walked for twelve hours through the bush to reach his house at the Thula Thula reserve in eastern South Africa. Twenty-one animals in total, who had not been to the house in over a year, arriving on their own without anyone calling them or leading them. Lawrence was the man who’d saved them. Years earlier the herd had been marked for shooting after escaping multiple enclosures and rampaging through populated land. He took them in when no one else would, camped near them for weeks, talked to them, sang to them, slowly earning the trust of the matriarch, Nana. They had lived peacefully on his reserve ever since. They stood at his property for two days, making low rumbling calls, restless, ears flaring. Then they turned and walked back into the bush. The next year, on the anniversary of his passing, they came back. And the year after that. And the year after that. Nobody can fully explain it. Elephants communicate over long distances using infrasound, low-frequency rumbles that travel for miles below the range of human hearing. They have the largest brain of any land animal, with a memory and a capacity for grief that researchers are still trying to measure. They mourn their own dead, sometimes returning to bones years later and gently touching them. Whether what happened at Thula Thula was a herd somehow sensing the loss of a man they’d bonded with, or a coincidence reframed by grief, is something even the people who were there have stopped trying to settle. Lawrence’s wife Françoise, who was at the house when the herd arrived, has said the simplest thing about it. “Some things in this world cannot be explained by reason. Cannot be seen.”

Russian Ambassador: It might already be "too late" to avert a Russian missile strike into Europe. @Dpol_un This morning on our Deep Dive show, I interviewed Russia's ambassador to the OSCE in Vienna and asked him point-blank whether Russia would strike *European* targets and expand the war.  I expected a diplomatically diffused answer from which I would have to read between the lines.  Instead, I he was about as direct as any diplomat I've ever heard: It might already be "too late" to avert a Russian direct strike against European targets. Ukrainian long range drone and missile strikes have been increasingly accurate and effective on hitting energy, civilian, and military targets deep inside Russia, with the latest at Ryazan overnight. Mr. Polyansky argues that these strikes are only possible with Western military expertise, technology, and intelligence. Additionally, Russia has been warning for weeks now that Ukrainian drone attacks had been using Baltic airspace to hit targets in Russia's northern regions, in Mr. Polyansky's view, directly involving European states in the fight directly against Russia. This reportedly crossed redlines in Moscow that other Russian voices claim has led them to decide to take action against military factories in the West, even risking an Article 5 trigger. Influential Russian analysts, such as Sergey Karaganov and Alexander Sladkov have been outspoken in recent days that conventional missile strikes against Europe should be closely followed by even nuclear strikes if the missiles don't "deter Europe." Its one thing if its a former official or media personality in Russia, but when a sitting diplomat uses nearly the same language to convey that Moscow is considering a major escalation, we should pay a lot of attention. The West was rightfully concerned about escalation in the war's opening rounds in 2022, but after incrimental escalation into the conflict by introducing one new weapon system after another did not spawn a Russian response beyond the Ukraine border, it appears Western leaders finally concluded Russia never will respond, and there aren't any genuine red lines. God help us if such confidence proves to be unfounded.

The XI TRUMP Summit was momentous in ways that no-one is saying. It was the second time TRUMP was given a CEASE AND DESIST Demand, this time backed by an implicit warning of Great Power armed conflict, in a period of just over 2 weeks. Here is the Chinese Foreign Ministry's official translation of the readout which sets out XI's Demand: "President Xi stressed that the Taiwan question is the most important issue in China-U.S. relations. If it is handled properly, the bilateral relationship will enjoy overall stability. Otherwise, the two countries will have clashes and even conflicts, putting the entire relationship in great jeopardy. “Taiwan independence” and cross-Strait peace are as irreconcilable as fire and water. Safeguarding peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait is the biggest common denominator between China and the U.S. The U.S. side must exercise extra caution in handling the Taiwan question." It is the word 'must' which stands out. For the first time that I can remember, certainly since the end of the Cold War, the leader of another country is telling the United States what it 'must' do. The US often talks in this way to other countries. It does not expect to be talked to in that way. The Chinese President has however just done precisely that. Moreover, as the photo attached to the Chinese readout makes clear, this was said by the Chinese President to the US President not in a private conversation, where they were the only ones present with translators, but during the full plenary meeting with the entire US delegation present. The word 'must' is backed by a clear threat of armed conflict. How else to interpret words like 'clashes and conflicts', which might put the entire relationship in 'great jeopardy'? XI also made clear that for China Taiwan is the paramount issue, overriding all others. Questions of trade, technology, rare earths, Iran, the Strait of Hormuz etc. are secondary. No doubt it was precisely for this reason that China, so as not to dilute the message, declined to enter into substantive discussions on these secondary issues. In other words China cannot be bribed or bullied or bought or frightened into changing its stance on Taiwan. It may be that the words in the Chinese language original are softer. It is the Chinese Foreign Ministry however that translated them in this way. I do not believe that Foreign Ministry's translators do not understand the force and weight these words in English carry. The Chinese, as they always do, were careful afterwards to soften the pill, hosting TRUMP in a banquet in the Great Hall of the People, and giving him tours of the Temple of Heaven and of Zhongnanhai. That however does not soften the impact of the words. On the contrary, it makes the warning starker still. The fact the Chinese gave TRUMP nothing on any other matter - Boeings, trade, rare earths, Iran, the Strait of Hormuz etc - underlines the point. This is the second time a Great Power leader has given the US President a warning of this kind in the space of just over 2 weeks. The previous such warnings were given by PUTIN on 29th April when he warned TRUMP over the phone not to attack Iran again, and gave TRUMP a further warning of the overwhelming retaliatory action Russia would take against Central Kiev if the Victory Day Parade in Moscow on 9th May were attacked. The fact TRUMP is now repeatedly getting warnings like this from Great Power leaders shows that China and Russia consider him a reckless leader barely under control who cannot be trusted. Certainly the Chinese, after seeing how he has acted in the last few months against Venezuela, Cuba and Iran, and perhaps against Russia in connection with the Valdai attack, don't trust him on Taiwan. Thus the decision to give him the warning. It also shows the change which has taken place in the global balance of power. Other Great Powers now feel able to make peremptory demands to the US dictating how it should behave over issues like Taiwan. Previously it was the US alone which did that. @RnaudBertrand @AlastairCrooke @AXChristoforou @thecyrusjanssen @Glenn_Diesen @TheGrayzoneNews @unjoe @MearsheimerJ @Consortiumnews @barnes_law @RealPepeEscobar @JamesWebb_16 @DanielLDavis1 youtube.com/watch?v=RsMRz7…
