Since Sony’s announcement that new PlayStation games will no longer release on physical discs beginning in 2028, I’ve been thinking about what we can do to better protect digital ownership.
I put together a template you can personalize and send to your Senators and Representative calling for stronger consumer protections for digital media.
If you think buying something should mean you get to keep it, feel free to use it, adapt it, and share it. Please note that this particular effort is NOT about preserving physical media, but simply rights of digital ownership.

La he vendido. Después de 1 semana pensándolo mucho me he envalentonado. Llevaba un par de años comprando juegos digitales pero no me gusta nada la soberbia, chulería y tener menos opciones. Me bajo del barco Sony. Me quedo con Switch 2 y Asus Xbox Ally X (Steam).

Do you really think Sony will stop at making games digital-only?🚀
Soon enough, they will transform gaming into a streaming-only and/or subscription-only model where you own no games, not even via downloads and will make you subscribed for life to skim as much money as possible while releasing one or two half-decent games a year, if you’re lucky.
The worst things in the world didn’t happen overnight. They were taken step by step so that no one thinks it’s “that serious” until they’re way too deep into it that there’s no turning back.
It began with micro-transactions for cosmetics and a paid service for online play.
Now look at where we are, debating if “purchase” actually should mean to own or not.
Enough is enough

- Modelar hasta la ultima piedra y pliegues del escroto en personajes
- Meter caras famosas para capturas (que obviamente no se deben ver feas por contrato)

Amazon Games VP Jeff Gattis thinks the future of gaming might not need a console at all as hardware keeps getting more expensive, more people could turn to cloud gaming instead. “If hardware gets more and more expensive, then I think streaming will become a lot more attractive to people.” He also said cloud gaming has improved a lot over the last few years and is finally a realistic option for more players. “The technology has come a long way. It’s much more viable than it used to be.” Gattis admitted plenty of players will still want dedicated hardware, especially where internet speeds aren’t good enough for game streaming.
