Any articulate, genuine conservative can beat any liberal/progressive in a policy-oriented general election.

So I guess the easiest way to piss off American zoomers is to tell them it’s cheaper to meal prep than eat at restaurants or order delivery. The amount of crashouts I’ve seen today is mind boggling and a little worrying. I hope young Americans aren’t this helpless IRL.

For people wanting to save money: being poor is an underrated hobby. It's especially fun if you have someone to do it with. If you're married or have kids that can be built in, if not, find a friend or group of friends that are on the same page. Learn to budget, grocery shop, and food prep. Thrift and repair things that you actually need. The key is to enjoy those processes. Find the joy in figuring out how you can make meals interesting without spending more. Have regular Sunday night meal-prep date/parties. Embrace finding things that you can do for little or no cost. If you need household items or furniture- instead of just going out and buying them, spend Saturday morning checking out garage sales. If you learn to enjoy doing the normal things of life you don't need as much entertainment. The hidden benefit is that you don't have a lot of time to spend money on additional things that you can't afford.

A regular-sized sandwich, a bag of chips, and a soda cost you like $17 now at Jersey Mike's, then they ask for a tip on their tablet, making the total close to $20. Wealthy people don't care because they don't need to budget, but for middle-class Americans, this is a big problem.

@CarolinaLion2 It definitely shows how reckless you are with your money. Don't buy a $50k car. That's dumb. You also don't need a $400k house. You just don't want to give up your luxuries.

10 loaves of bread costs $20. 10 lbs of sliced meat costs $100. That is $120. A rotisserie chicken costs $5 cooked at Costco. Their Mac and Cheese and Mashed potatoes cost like $5. 2 chickens, broccoli florets, and mashed potatoes cost < $20. That's $140 a week. 10 dozen eggs and a bag of sausage links is < $50. ~$300 a week to eat large. And that is if you have a family that can eat 14 chickens, 10 dozen eggs, and 10 lbs of meat in a week.

If my whole family ate sandwiches for every meal 3 times a day only our grocery bill would still be 800 dollars a month. To follow budgeting guidelines, I would need to make 64,000 dollars a year…to afford to only eat sandwiches. You can’t budget your way out of poverty.

@Ravonda12 @bookshelfbattle Agreed. We do all of this and are significantly better off than either of our parents/grandparents ever were. Single-income while I stay home/homeschool our kids. The joy & satisfaction that comes with financial independence is worth way more than keeping up w/ the Joneses.

@bookshelfbattle Little everyday purchases add up. Older used cars, cooking at home, Roku instead of cable, thrifting, ditch alcohol, free social activites. Backup fund so no credit debt. Then invest, watch it grow. In a few years life will look different. Delayed gratification.

@RobProvince This 1000%. We've all gone through The Suck, and the ONLY thing to do is stop whining, listen to people who tell you how to get through it and do what you gotta do. "You don't understand how bad it is now!" is just a cope. Yes, it sucks now, but whining won't fix a damn thing.

This is where Millennials and Zoomers lose their argument and the compassion some might feel for them being in a poor economy goes out the window. I as a 52 year old man & make my lunches every weekend for around $3-$5 each. And when you suggest they do the same it’s like you just pissed on their shoes. So it’s ok for me to sacrifice and do all the little things to save money at 52. But you at 30 consider it an insult. Ok then…. fuck off.

A Chipotle burrito costs $15. Ground beef is $7 a pound. Inflation is financially crippling Gen Z. Once again, an out-of-touch rich boomer is lecturing young people.

I suppose I'll be accused of being a leftist for saying this, but working professionals shouldn’t have to brown‑bag it to succeed in a modern society. I don't mean that in the “everyone deserves a pony” sense. I mean it in the “my car doesn’t sound right” sense.

@AaronCornielle There is a litany of reasons for why goods are so expensive. One of them is because people pay for them. When we stop living beyond our means, prices will necessarily decrease.

@AELeighton2 You're trying to reason with retards who turn their noses up at the idea of eating leftovers, it's beneath them. They have to have something different from a restaurant every day, because they're special.

The bread is cancerous and toxic The lunch meat is cancerous and toxic The chips will clog your arteries and leave you feeling hungrier because that’s what simple carbs do Sure eat like this every day&you may just save enough for your cancer treatments by the time you retire 🤗

The younger generation has been brainwashed into thinking you have to pay $22 for lunch instead of packing a ham sandwich and chips for $2.50
