As Carney heads to India for trade talks, a Canadian Sikh leader has been warned of a “credible threat” to his life. Moninder Singh, head of the Sikh Federation, says Vancouver Police delivered the warning Sunday, citing intel from a confidential informant. His wife and children were also deemed at risk, Global News is reporting. Canadian security agencies and law enforcement have both shared that India is targeting Sikh Canadians as part of a transnational repression and state sponsored terrorism campaign, including mobilizing a known terrorist entity, the Bishnoi Gang, to conduct arsons, homicides, and extortions targeting Canadians. The Carney government has moved ahead with normalizing ties without securing any public accountability from India.
