@TheUnaButters ...Windows 10 was win?
I thought it was ragged on launch as well
English

XP was the last windows loved while it was out.
After it a cycle formed. The worst windows ever was the newest version of windows. When the new version came out we missed the old one cause it was better than the new one
Max@PingStruggles
Windows 12 better not break the cycle just because it’s vibe coded

@Pirat_Nation Godot does have less tools and systems available, making it more difficult then Unity and Unreal, but you can always remake those tools and systems as you need. I recommend it for people who are experienced programmers

Game developer Thomas Grové from Studio Interrupt recreated the same horror game in both Unity and Godot to compare the engines side by side, and the results were surprisingly one-sided.
The project, a retro-style horror game called “Eyes Never Wake,” was built in both engines under the same conditions.
According to Grové, Godot performed better in most areas affecting everyday development.
>The engine started much faster, scripts compiled dramatically quicker, exports finished in seconds instead of minutes, and the install size was only a tiny fraction of Unity’s.
>Godot launched in about 13 seconds versus Unity’s 80 seconds, and exporting took around 2 seconds in Godot compared to nearly 15 minutes in Unity.
>The developer also found that Godot delivered stronger lighting and atmosphere, showing how much the engine’s visuals have improved.

Wall Jumps Will Work! Simplified from Mario64 where you'd bonk and fall if the timing wasn't tight; I want it to be a tool in the player's kit, not a hard skill check. You'll slide down the wall rather than bonk and can jump at will.

@canraptor_ I hope 14 but realistically 13 won’t even be orbital because of what happened, so probably 15

@saltysealion @AmericanAir @r_wilson8 For starting the engines. The APU is not used during flight, nor once the engines are started.
English

Why don't in-seat chargers work on @AmericanAir flights. Third leg in a row that they are dead. Is that an upcharge now too?

@RealtimeVFXMike @ProdeusGame That’s cool! I looked at the game you’re making and it looks awesome!
English

Character controller update. Made a little sandbox in @ProdeusGame level editor and exported as obj. Added a rope bridge and hovering platform. Landing impact is now applied to rigid bodies. Short hop and tall jump by holding down button added. #GameDev #IndieDev #Unity3d
English

@Sean_Hinris That’s cool, I was never able to figure out terrain in Godot
English

Long time no see! I've started studying Game Design recently, so updates may be a bit slower for now.
Here's a quick look at a Level Editor I've been building. You'll be able to create your own maps with it, hehe.

@kenjiDev9662 That’s cool, I wish you luck in figuring this out
English

@ItzFlare_ As a programmer, that video is mostly just animation. Animation is important but that’s a bit much in my opinion. Not too much to worry about. Focus on building momentum and getting a project finished for now.
English

How do people even make this shit bro, I'm currently learning UE5 atm and I wouldn't even know where to start when it comes to making smth like this 😭
PolyCube 🦆@ItsPolyCube
was participating in a gamejam but lost the sauce halfway. was making this sort of fnaf-esq horror game - here's the progress after 3 days maybe I will return to this one day #gamedev #indiegame

@StormslayerDev Darkness is another. I love both methods, NFS 2015 looks great.
English

Perpetually wet roads in racing games are a graphics cheat people don't talk about enough
Pixel Gamer 4k@4k_isn
Not even close to NFS 2015
English

@sainimatic Now I’m curious if there’s a side-by-side comparison I can find somewhere (I’m not a 3D modeler)
English

For 3D modeling you have the opposite problem. Almost nothing in real life is truly, really parallel or perpendicular. Add .5 degrees or even .1 degrees of randomness to your angles. Even if you want it to look straight. There's an uncanny valley of straightness. Trust me on this
Christopher Stanley@cstanley
This is why it’s important for models to be grounded in real-world physics. Even when people can’t immediately explain what’s wrong, they subconsciously detect when perspective, depth, and geometry violate the underlying rules of the physical world.

@SteveGrant1862 @Polymarket By “make permanent” they mean that the clock will remain one hour ahead forever and won’t go back. So it’s the same thing as abolishing it, just that we stay an hour ahead.
English

@Polymarket Daylight savings time is ridiculous and needs to be outright abolished forever, not made permanent.
