The snowboarding minigame for Broken Dreams is finally complete and it's a LOT of fun Added time attack mode and colored balloons you can pop to lower your time, as well as "bombs" that will add time if touched. Very excited for you guys to try it with the upcoming demo update

Wall Jumps Will Work! Simplified from Mario64 where you'd bonk and fall if the timing wasn't tight; I want it to be a tool in the player's kit, not a hard skill check. You'll slide down the wall rather than bonk and can jump at will. #gamedev #indiegame #godot #lowpoly #n64

IT WORKS LIKE A CHARM!! One issue I kept running into with orthographic cameras was that terrain height barely felt noticeable. My fix? Adding a tiny camera rotation based on player movement >:) #gamedev #indiedev

Added another jump type, the sideflip. For sure the trickiest one to nail down the animation look for, and to figure out how to balance the turning around angle + the angle at which the animation starts. His base moveset's close to done! #gamedev #indiegame #godot #lowpoly #n64

@GorrPunk Thanks! If I'm just blocking it out I'll do it in Godot, that's what the green checkered blocks are. But once I want to finalize it I'll build it out in Blender so I can do vertex shading and vertex texture blending.

A grama é feita de duas camadas de texturas, ambas com resolução 32x32, mas em diferentes densidades de texel. E claro que tem vertex colors por cima. Assim, a famosa repetição de textura típica dos jogos da 5ª geração (e Pokémon atuais) fica imperceptível. Imagem do console N64:

Mais vertex colors: eu quero minhas árvores "billboard" com resolução 64x64 mas, no N64, isso significa reduzir a contagem de cores para 16, o que deixa a imagem um tanto sem vida. A pintura de vértices resolve deixando as cores mais vivas e variadas. Make games colorful again!
