Since Trump’s victory there’s been near daily attacks in the UK media aimed at the government’s energy and net zero policies (there have been three in the last 24 hours). And yet there’s been barely a peep in defence from the government or its outriders.

Everybody who tells you to be an entrepreneur is crazy. For the fast majority of people, having a steady job is a much better option. This shit is hard. Much harder than they tell you.

The right are trying to stop discussion of climate change and the LA fires even though scientists warned this would happen. One - @ClimateHuman - moved from LA precisely because climate change was making catastrophic wildfires far more likely. Does this look normal to you?

@edwinhayward In Scotland, it is already a legal requirement for new houses to have energy efficient measures (plans post 2015) ~80% opt for solar panels. Like our @TaylorWimpey home in Ayrshire. Good legislation is required to ensure builders do it right, may not be perfect but it's a start

Solar panels and farms go together superbly. Politicians shouldn’t be telling farmers and landowners what they can do with their own land. Farmers know best.

Well, it's official. If @RobertJenrick wins the @Conservatives leadership contest I will be politically homeless. There is a good discussion to be had about HOW to get to Net Zero; but pretending we don't have to, and blaming Net Zero for all our economic woes, is just infantile.
