In 2008, I was scandalized when a choir of young people sang to the Democratic presidential candidate in a way that tested the boundary of Christian worship. This is far worse and was generated by the man himself. The president of my own nation has descended into a moral abyss.

@MusingsOnChrist The members where I serve were shocked at how many would agree that Jesus was not God. It didn't make sense to them that someone could say they believe in Jesus, but not know who He is.

On Last Week and Jesus Most of my friends are politically and socially on the right. So I intentionally listen to friends on the left too so as to honor them. Their diverse reactions to last week’s horrible events surprised me. I knew little about the people hurt, so I listened.

@SimplePreacher @MusingsOnChrist @mattmillsap I don’t read that as “we should support/defend those who wish to build/ publicly display idols.” I also think there’s some space between “Christians shouldn’t support public display of graven images” and “destroy those who reject the gospel”

It is always good and right and necessary to stand for religious liberty. It is a pleasure to stand with @mattmillsap on this fundamental Baptist and thoroughly Christian doctrine, especially when false teachers misuse the name of Jesus Christ.

@SteveBanks5924 @MusingsOnChrist @mattmillsap Luke 9:5 the disciples were not told to destroy those who would reject them or their message, but to leave them with a symbolic warning. The Lord let them have the freedom to choose. That doesn't mean He supported their choice, but he did let them choose.

@MusingsOnChrist @mattmillsap Can you provide some scripture references pertaining to the defense of “religious liberty?” Israel was severely punished for allowing/participating in worship of other gods. God’s nature does not change. How do you reconcile this with “we should defend the building of idols”

@MusingsOnChrist @mattmillsap It amazes me how so many fail to recognize the simple fact that from the very beginning the LORD has always given people the freedom to choose. It seems like a basic misunderstanding of the term freedom of religion. Freedom of religion is not freedom from judgment.
