🇺🇸🇮🇷 Let me put forward a theory here Why did Trump say this the way he did? He didn't just cancel the strike. He named names, publicly, on Truth Social. The Emir of Qatar asked me. MBS asked me. MBZ asked me. I listened. By putting their names in the post, Trump just told Iran: these 3 leaders personally tried stopped the attack. They're on your side. You have no reason to hit them. He took the Gulf out of the blast radius; politically, publicly, on purpose. Qatar is the mediator. Saudi and UAE have been absorbing Iranian drones for months. All 3 desperately don't want round 2 on their soil. Trump gave them cover. Iran now can't attack them without looking like it's punishing the people who saved them from a strike. That move right there might have been calculated.

🌍 We compared per capita oil & gas income across Middle Eastern countries. 🛢️ Saudi Arabia earns the highest total oil & gas revenue at around $200–220B, followed by the UAE ($120–130B) and Qatar ($90–110B). Iran earns about $35–50B. 📊 But the real difference appears when revenue is divided by population: 🇶🇦 Qatar ≈ $37,000 per person 🇦🇪 UAE ≈ $13,000 🇰🇼 Kuwait ≈ $10,500 🇴🇲 Oman ≈ $7,000 🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia ≈ $5,500 Iran ≈ $450 👥 The main reason is population size. Iran has ~93M people, while Qatar has only ~2.7M. 📈 Compared to Iran, per capita oil & gas income is: • 🇶🇦 Qatar: 80× higher • 🇦🇪 UAE: 30× • 🇰🇼 Kuwait: 23× • 🇴🇲 Oman: 15× • 🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia: 12× ⚡ So despite huge energy reserves, Iran’s larger population and lower export revenues leave a far smaller share per citizen.

One of the good things about the new barbarism of a dog eat dog world is that things have simplified greatly. Only straight power relations count. Makes the analysis considerably easier.

Sorry Scandinavia! Iran doesn’t do minimalism.

Canada joins the IAEA in condemning today’s drone attacks on the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the UAE. Targeting peaceful nuclear energy facilities poses grave risks to human life and the environment. Canada stands by its friends in the UAE and reiterates the urgent need for restraint and de-escalation in the region.
