To my knowledge, this is the first example in the world of controlling the car with a Visual Language Model end-2-end! The model takes in video stream from multiple cameras and can generate language tokens and controls. Done by our team at Wayve:)
Wayve@wayve_ai

At Wayve, we recognize the power of language in robot interaction 🚙💬 especially for building trust in self-driving technology. This drives our ongoing exploration of breakthrough uses of #LLMs in autonomous driving systems. Last September, we debuted LINGO-1, the first open-loop driving commentator. Today, we're advancing this work with the introduction of LINGO-2, marking the first time a 👁️🗣️🚗 vision-language-action model has been driven on public roads. LINGO-2 uniquely generates driving behavior and textual explanations from one deep learning model, providing continuous commentary on its driving decisions. Thoughts and actions should run in parallel according to @SinavskiOleg ... Said while gesturing.

So satisfying when your floor cleaning python lines are near some +60 year old flying assembly code

On paternity leave and lacking sleep 🙃! I wrote up a bit controversial research software thoughts - its ok to take on "tech debt" in research software since majority of the code will die - code reuse shouldn't be the target hence copypaste is totally fine levelup.gitconnected.com/software-for-e…

After many many months of review cycles our older LLM for driving paper got accepted to ICRA! This is before we started working on real-video driving VLMs. Here is a bit of code: github.com/wayveai/Drivin…

🚀 Wayve's paper “Driving with LLMs: Fusing Object-Level Vector Modality for Explainable Autonomous Driving” got accepted at #ICRA2024! 🤖This paper introduces Language-Action Models, the first step in Wayve's journey to add language as a new modality to our AI foundation model

@CSProfKGD Hi Costa! Sounds great! But would it be possible to update cvpr.thecvf.com/Conferences/20…? It still says "Papers submitted to CVPR must not be discussed with the media until they have been officially accepted for publication"

Message from the #CVPR2024 Program Chairs about social media posts and discussion with media: The PCs are following guidance from the vote at CVPR 2023, which lifts the social media ban that prevents authors from talking about research they've submitted to CVPR as long as they do not mention CVPR. So, you MAY talk about your research, whether or not you have submitted it to CVPR. You may advertise arXiv papers you have posted, demos that are online, etc. HOWEVER, you are not allowed to say you are talking about research that is currently under review at CVPR. This is true for both social media posts, as well as on the record discussions with the press.
