President Trump has done an excellent job, and we agree, his military might has been brilliant and precise. The pentagon briefers before the House Armed Services Wednesday said something very different. This isn't about Trump. This is about the Washington war machine, doing what it always does. Our Chairman, Mike Rogers, walked out of there demanding answers bc we didn't get them. Now our Senators are demanding answers. Pin this on me, for telling the truth. Foreign policy and the complexities of war can be messy, but it is important that Trump is as successful as humanly possible.

You cannot remove all of the highly enriched uranium, nuclear grade, in Iran without going into the tunnels and facilities deep underground to get it.  I don't know what the administration's plan is, but I am guessing this is at least one reason why there are public reports that some of the special forces are being called up and deployed.  For Nancy Mace to say no ground troops or I won't support the war effort is, to me, utterly irresponsible.  The administration is not talking about amassing troops for some big ground campaign, according to public reports.  Mace is now running for governor of South Carolina.  I have never been a fan for several reasons.  I trust the president to make prudential decisions in the military campaign, as he already has.  His use of the military in Iran and Venezuela has been brilliant and precise.

For what it’s worth, I’ve enjoyed @davidharsanyi’s writing for more than a decade. Last year I noticed he blocked me after we disagreed on glyphosate, vaccines, & Douglas Murray. Also the RFK assassination. I was a bit upset as I had never attacked him personally, or was in any way untoward. There should be room for disagreement without immediately isolating yourself from those thinking differently. Now David calls me an “unhinged nutjob.” And I have to say this kind of name calling — which is becoming standard for the always-trust-the-NatSec-state faction of the conservative movement — is part of the reason it’s in popular decline. Calling someone crazy or stupid or evil or scum or any of the words I’m increasingly seeing bandied about against Tucker Carlson … isn’t actually persuasive to anyone who doesn’t already agree with you. I’m happy to discuss virtually any topic with anyone who approaches me in good faith. I know David’s got his opinions & he’s sticking to them; I try to have the humility to know that an earnest search for truth sometimes means shedding earlier narratives.

I voted YES on Virginia’s redistricting referendum. Virginia’s approach preserves our bipartisan redistricting process for the future. It also responds to other states that are catering to a President who says he’s “entitled” to more seats in Congress. 🗳️ Vote by April 21.
