Most people can't differentiate between fusion and fision reactors. Fision reactors are safe, reliable, efficient sources of energy. Fusion reactors are currently science projects. The work being done by fusion scientists is contributing significantly to man's overall knowledge of our universe. Why discourage this work Elon?

The Sun is an enormous, free fusion reactor in the sky. It is super dumb to make tiny fusion reactors on Earth. Even if you burned 4 Jupiters, the Sun would still round up to 100% of all power that will ever be produced in the solar system!! Stop wasting money on puny little reactors, unless actively acknowledging that they are just there for your pet science project jfc.

We have one shot at saving our country. This is the closest we have ever been to toppling the elites. We can’t give up just because things got tough and lose momentum. It’s going to be 10x’s as hard with a new party. It’s just not logical. The numbers aren’t there to justify this move mathematically speaking.

@TechOperator Ok, the ev sales pitch is much higher but the battery size and age are a significant factor. An older car with smaller batteries get about 150 miles. Not everyone can buy a new ev, especially without my money via the US government. Without subsidies the ev market cannot survive.

I am a retired power plant operator, so yes, many companies offer lower rates at night. But when you charge your ev. You use higher wattage for the first part of your charge, you do not draw equal watts throughout the night. You merely maintain the charge. Also, because of the limited milage of most evs (150mi) drivers often use charging facilities provided at their workplace or other charging stations during the day. I have no idea what the government is spending on all these charging stations throughout the country but I ame pretty sure that money would be better spent beefing up the grid. Making it more reliable and building more reliable power generation.

@TechOperator Thanks for your opinion about when evs actually charge up. Where do you get that data? While they may be plugged in overnight the largest draw is most likely when they are first plugged in after returning from work. Putting the largest draw at peak load hpurs.

bUt tHe GrId cAN’T handle EVs - people fail to understand energy demand. EVs mostly charge at night when demand is low. Thinking the grid can’t handle the load is akin to believing more overnight traffic will worsen rush hour.
