This is, unsurprisingly, a complete inversion of reality. Netanyahu says the ICC under Khan went after him to distract from the sexual misconduct allegations against Khan. But the truth is that the allegations suddenly started surfacing a couple of weeks AFTER Khan informed the US of his decision to seek warrants, and after he was told - in the public record - by US senators (including Marco Rubio): "Target Israel and we will target you." This is the actual timeline (source: middleeasteye.net/news/icc-karim…): - 25 March 2024: Khan informs the US administration of his decision and that warrants would be sought by the end of April. - 19 April 2024: A senior US official warns Khan by phone of "disastrous consequences" if he proceeds; Khan says he rejected this, citing Israel's lack of cooperation. 24 April 2024: 12 Republican US senators (including Marco Rubio) send Khan a letter warning "Target Israel and we will target you." 26 April 2024: Netanyahu publicly criticises the ICC on social media, saying: “Under my leadership, Israel will never accept any attempt by the ICC to undermine its inherent right of self-defence.” 2 May 2024: The sexual misconduct/harassment allegations are first put to Khan in person by members of his team, on the same day, per his later ICC submission, that he had been planning to announce the Netanyahu/Gallant warrants. Draw your own conclusion 🤷‍♂️

I welcome the decision, supported by an overwhelming majority of countries, to remove Karim Khan, the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court. This decision exposes the truth. Karim Khan was accused of sexually harassing women who worked under him. It was precisely as these allegations emerged that he canceled his planned visit to Israel, abandoned his previous commitment to thoroughly examine Israel’s independent judicial system, and suddenly moved to pursue arrest warrants against me and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. He did so to divert attention from the allegations against him and to rally Israel’s enemies around him as a political shield. That shield has now been torn away. What has been exposed is not only Karim Khan’s true motivation, but also the profound injustice and corruption that have infected both the Office of the Prosecutor and the International Criminal Court itself. Last night, I spoke with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. He once again reaffirmed America’s determination to act forcefully against this institution—an institution that undermines justice, attacks democratic and sovereign nations, and seeks to subordinate their security to the decisions of unaccountable and corrupt officials in The Hague. This is a very positive development. The truth must now be heard throughout the world.

@Ostrov_A You skip what happened next. At Taba in January 2001 both sides accepted Clinton’s parameters with reservations and said peace had never been closer. Then Barak, not Arafat, walked away to fight an election. ‘Nothing changed’ only if you delete the ending.

On this day in 2000, the Camp David peace talks ended. Yasser Arafat was offered a Palestinian state on a silver platter. As Bill Clinton later lamented: "I killed myself to give the Palestinians a state." Arafat rejected it. Instead, he launched the 2nd Intifada, unleashing years of suicide bombings and terror. Twenty-six years later, and after the horrors of Oct. 7, nothing has changed and the central obstacle to peace remains a Palestinian leadership that continues to choose violence and rejection, over peace and hope.

@Ostrov_A Arafat didn’t ‘launch’ the 2nd Intifada. It erupted after Sharon marched on Al-Aqsa flanked by hundreds of police. Clinton’s own Mitchell Committee found no evidence the PA planned it. Blaming the occupied for resisting occupation isn’t history, it’s PR.

@Ostrov_A No map, no written offer at Camp David. The 96-97% you cite is the December 2000 Clinton Parameters, not the July summit. Clinton said that line at a 2016 Hillary rally, not in 2000. You’ve spliced three separate events into one myth and called it history.

An appalling indictment of how Britain has failed to stand up to anti-Israel propaganda, how we have failed to protect our own Jewish community, and how our politicians have appeased extremists spreading blood libels and continue to do so. Utterly damning. We should be ashamed.

This is Sheikh Farouk Ramadan. Yesterday afternoon, he and his family were attacked by settler-terrorists on their own land. Farouk managed to disarm one of the attackers. He took the settler's rifle and shot and killed two terrorists in a clear act of self-defence. In response, Israeli soldiers murdered him and three of his family members. Israeli government and media portrays him as the terrorist, and the actual terrorists as the victims. Don't let them push this narrative. Farouk had the full legal and moral right to resist against the genocidal terrorists who invaded his land.

.@antonioguterres, you can't talk about Gaza while pretending Hamas doesn't exist. The jihadist terror organization carried out the Oct 7 massacre, embeds military infrastructure in civilian areas & terrorizes Palestinians. If you can't see that, maybe it's time for an 👁️ exam

The likes of Bob Vylan and Kneecap pose as brave and free speech advocates. At the same time it is Jews, Israelis, Zionists who are cancelled, not those who laud the aims of terrorists. It’s fair to say @BoyGeorge is an imperfect hero (as the best heroes often are) but this is one of the bravest things I’ve seen a celebrity do. Thank you @BoyGeorge

UNESCO World Heritage Committee Decisions Represent a Surrender to Politicization and a Distortion of History Israel condemns the decisions adopted today by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, which approved the proposals submitted by the Palestinian Authority and Lebanon without a vote, while disregarding clear historical facts and the reality on the ground. The Committee has once again chosen to serve as a platform for advancing one-sided Palestinian political initiatives against Israel, in a disgraceful attempt to erase the clear Jewish connection to the Land of Israel. The fact that these decisions were adopted without a vote, because the Chair of the World Heritage Committee did not permit one, is further evidence of their lack of professional and moral legitimacy.

Today at UN Headquarters, ICC member states voted by a majority of 82 to remove Prosecutor Karim Khan. Khan thought his political witch hunt against Israel and outrageous arrest warrants would distract from serious sexual misconduct allegations. He was wrong. @NYCMayor Zohran Mamdani, take note: using Israel as a political weapon will not shield you from accountability.

Last week, the Government's version of the Occupied Territories passed through the Seanad, and will soon be law. I want to sincerely thank all the campaigners who pushed the Govt so hard, but to also be very clear that this is not enough. It is not the OTB I first tabled in 2018, and by exempting services from the Bill we have failed to show the ambition required. But this is not the end. I used my speech last week to set the record straight on services, and make clear that we will keep going. "I urge the Government to be brave, to accept these amendments, and ban trade in services as international law requires. We cannot just wait on an EU ban that may never come. If we are not successful today, I will be back in this House in September to move legislation to extend the ban to include services. We will keep going as long as we need to – until both our moral and legal obligations are met."

Mayor Mamdani did not simply express a personal political opinion. He used the authority, symbolism, and credibility of the mayor’s office to issue what amounted to an official public address declaring that the democratically elected leader of the world’s only Jewish state is a ‘war criminal’ who is ‘not welcome in New York City.’ That is a profound misuse of the office entrusted to him by all New Yorkers. After acknowledging that New York City has no independent legal authority to execute the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant, the mayor nevertheless chose to transform that legal reality into a televised political spectacle. Respect for the separation of powers and the legal limits of public office is a bedrock of American democracy; those limits should not be treated as an inconvenience to be exploited for political theater. Perhaps most telling was what the mayor chose to leave out. His address made no mention of Hamas or the October 7 massacre of innocent civilians. Instead, he delivered a sweeping moral indictment of Israel while erasing the terrorist atrocities that ignited this war. Appeals to universal humanity and justice ring hollow when they exclude the victims whose suffering does not fit a preferred political narrative. This is no longer simply about Prime Minister Netanyahu. It reflects a broader pattern in which Mayor Mamdani repeatedly singles out Israel while using the prestige of his office to legitimize rhetoric that further isolates the Jewish state and deepens division here at home. At a time when Jewish New Yorkers are experiencing alarming levels of antisemitism, harassment and intimidation, they deserve a mayor who refrains from fomenting hatred against the world’s only Jewish country while maintaining the fiction that this is not anti-Jewish. Throughout his campaign, Mayor Mamdani repeatedly insisted that his responsibility as mayor would be to focus on New York City and the issues affecting New Yorkers. New Yorkers elected him to make their neighborhoods safer, combat hate and unite a diverse city, not to conduct foreign policy or transform City Hall into a stage for ideological declarations about world leaders. New Yorkers elected a mayor, not a prosecutor of foreign leaders. Mayor Mamdani should spend less time trying to demonize only one leader and one country from City Hall and more time protecting the New Yorkers he was elected to serve. #Mamdani #MayorMamdani #Israel

The Prime Minister’s Office: The ICC is a kangaroo court that has no jurisdiction over Americans or Israelis. Its bogus arrest warrant against Prime Minister Netanyahu was issued by a disgraced former ICC Prosecutor, Karim Khan, a few days before allegations of sexual misconduct against him became public. It was a clear attempt by Khan to divert public attention and seek protection from scrutiny. Under Prime Minister Netanyahu's leadership, Israel has taken unprecedented wartime measures to minimize harm to civilians while confronting Hamas, a genocidal terrorist organization that uses Palestinians as human shields and deliberately targets innocent Israeli civilians. Instead of backing Khan's criminal behaviour, Mr. Mamdani should focus on fixing the damage his policies have caused New York. Like Karim Khan, Mamdani appears interested in diverting public attention from his follies and attacking the leader of the Jewish state and the only democracy in the Middle East.

@MaxiMumMother @jo_bartosch @nicolelampert The PLO IRA contact was real but small. Training more than weapons, and the IRA declined the arms over smuggling risk. It dried up by the mid 1980s once the PLO turned to the Irish state. A dead paramilitary link cannot explain why Irish people who were kids in 85 back Palestine.

@HildegardP @jo_bartosch @nicolelampert Real but tiny. Some training, but the IRA turned down PLO weapons. It faded by the mid 1980s once the PLO built ties to the Irish government. A paramilitary link dead for 40 years does not explain modern public opinion held by people who were children when it ended.
