@wcsstallvn But it's the "missed at the rim" shots that hurt when Illinois only made 6-26 from 3 and UConn scored 36 of 71 points from behind the arc - perimeter defense was lacking.

the out coaching narrative is gonna go crazy but Illinois missed 8 shots at the rim, UConn only took 5 at the rim. Illinois had at least 4 3s rim out, UConn had at least 3 3 bank in. Sometimes it’s just the way the ball bounces.

In 5 games with Pedro Pages starting at catcher, the Cardinals have allowed 33 runs. Pages is hitting .188 with 3 hits and 1 homer in 2026. Putrid Pages is also 1/10 in abs challenging.

Illinois didn't start playing good defense until it was too late and couldn't buy any buckets for whatever reason. Tough to go out playing such a poor game offensively after it carried the team so much this year.

Illinois has one assist at the half. Their entire game plan is walking into threes early in the shot clock and iso ball. It’s hard to believe this is the game plan a Final Four coaching staff concocted with a week of preparation.
