@SmashedEars My instinct is that they don’t belong in fiction and look too formal or technical. It breaks the spell of a story. But I have an incredibly cavalier approach to commas and punctuation in general. Not quite Cormac levels of obstinacy but getting there. Also, readers DGAF.

@SamBuntz @default_friend I’m from Chicago but live in Indiana now. It’s hard as hell for me to get any love in Chicago and it drives me crazy. Can’t get my short stuff in Chicago journals. Cant get my novels in stores. I’m treated better by Ohio stores and book fests. So…..can we be friends?
