I don’t think segregating the G6 helps media partners OR G6 brands. Outside of North Dakota State, most casual CFB fans couldn’t tell you the last 3 FCS champions. People engage with things that involve their teams/conferences. FCS Championship viewership is poor imo. American championship had 2.4 million. FCS Championship 2.3 million. One game had a CFP spot on the line and was relevant to all FBS fans, the other was a national championship for a separate division. Realistically, 24-team model gives G6 at least 2 auto bids. CFB NIT could be 8 teams with 4 other G6 champs, 4 at-large. Champs get home-field advantage and higher seed.

Friends and family barely cared about Oregon-JMU and Ole Miss-Tulane, and overall, it’s too much of a grind.
Personally, I like 14 - with 2 play-in games to get to 12 - but with six conference champs automatically in

It also saves a week & removes meaningless CCG re-matches.

According to a report by @irishillustratd, Notre Dame is making drastic cuts to athletic spending.
17 sports will have budget cuts including scholarship reductions. Taking baseball scholarships down to 10.2 is akin to opting of competing at a high level.

College football is hurt because so many people operate in their jobs the way they should -- in the best interest of their conference, program, etc. But no decision has been made, with everyone thinking about the game as a whole.

Not really... The Pac-12 killed itself. They took their power program for granted (many argue they actively undermined it) and when it left, the rest collapsed. Make no mistake, if Oregon and Washington hadn't scrambled to follow USC out the door, the Pac-12 would still exist.

The regular season is when the playoffs begin. 24 will dramatically alter that. Making regular season games not worth the cost of attendance.
